Aquila Porto Rethymno

Sea-view room was spotlessly clean, good size with comfortable beds, fridge and Nespresso machine. Water was supplied every day. The bathroom was small but had a great shower, with shampoo, shower gel and conditioner supplied. Air-con was good. TV had lots of channels to suit many languages. We were staying on a half-board basis and the food at breakfast and dinner buffets was amazing. Huge selection of hot and cold options, plentiful supply and very tasty. The only downside was the price of drinks at dinner, which aren’t included in a half-board package. The layout of the hotel is unusual, 2 separate pools in separate areas with limited supply of loungers if you want to avoid the heat of the beach. Both areas were clean and the pools were also clean. The hotel location is perfect as regards access to shops, cafes and restaurants, and a short walk into the old town. The road noise is hard to escape but it does tend to subside after midnight. The hotel staff were amazing, always friendly, helpful and welcoming.

Location and facilities were great although quite noisy at times. Staff were all lovely and willing to help in any way they could. Staff came to the beach a few days giving watermelon and drinks to everyone that wanted it which was a nice touch. Rooms were good but not 5 star with broken tiles and room cleaning was erratic ( some items replaced some days and not others)

The Hotel is very clean and tidy with very good food although the price of drinks in the bar and restaurants were excessive. The resorts was closing down for the season so it was a little difficult to judge and is a two hour coach journey from the airport.

Facility was nice but staff made all the difference. Greek people are so heartwarming, welcoming and helpful. A place to come back to!

Excellent location, especially for a business trip in rethymno.

Hotel is really well situated about 15 mins walk from Old Town and just across the road from a lovely sandy beach. Nikos on the desk was super helpful and Eleni was a great fitness coach for yoga, stretch, pilates, aquarobics and zumba. We felt very welcomed by the hotel staff. Sevice was very good and the food was varied and high quality. We especially appreciated the whole honeycomb for breakfast and the baklavas for dessert. We really appreciated the late checkout and the all inclusive being available all day until we left at 7pm.

The hotel is convenient. All Staff can converse in English

No parking in or near the hotel. We were upgraded to a Superior room and my adult soon had the room next door. Apart from fruit on a daily basis, a turn down service (not necessary) and a bottle of wine handed to us at the beginning of our stay, our room was no different to his. They said complimentary flowers, he had plastic flowers and so did we. On leaving, We paid the same environment taxes for him in his room as ours, apparently charged per room. And then a free gift, a ceramic fish, on our departure. Given per family and not per room. Not impressed by the piece of beach where hotel had their umbrellas. Debri in front of the umbrellas including an old safety shoe and a hat.

Excellent hotel, facilities, personnel, location at the beach and in Rethymnon, food ( all inclusive), activities, etc... The sea was great, quality of water was excellent. We will definitely come back!

Really enjoyed our stay here, the hotel and room was immaculate condition. Shame the pool was a bit too cold at end of October but made use of the warm indoor pool and jacuzzi. Breakfast had a great choice and staff could not have been more friendly. Highly recommend. Only downfall was our room was supposed to be full sea view but more like partial sea view from first floor as part of hotel building blocked the majority of the sea view from our balcony.
