Grassy Flats Resort & Beach Club

We had a wonderful stay at Grassy Flats for our 20th wedding anniversary trip. Everyone was very welcoming, the room was clean, the bed was comfy, and the grounds are beautiful. We enjoyed our time chatting with Jeff at the tiki bar and his recommendations were spot on!

My friend and I recently stayed at Grassy Flats for a fun long weekend getaway. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. The location is great and we look forward to staying here again in the future!

We were in the Keys for the Tour deKeys cycling event. Grassy Flats was the best hotel stay I have had in my recent memory. It checked all the boxes. I would recommend it for anyone planning to spend any time in the Keys. The service, accommodations and amenities were all top notch.

We reserved a 2 BR suite in the Conch House and stayed in unit 31. The unit was situated on the top floor 3rd level in an older building with elevator service off the highway so a bit noisy. The unit is very dated but the 2 balconies afforded stunning waterfront and sunrise views. I would rate the grounds a 5. I would rate this Conch unit a 3. There were 2 plastic chairs with no seat cushion on each balcony. No table to place your coffee cup. Just not very inviting. Again the waterfront views made up for the lack of comfortable seating. The hotel staff were rated a 5: all very friendly and welcoming. The room just was very outdated. The fridge had no ice maker and there were empty ice trays inside the freezer. The coffee maker was an outdated version of a keurig with limited pods. This hotel could have easily offered complimentary coffee inside their store or at the reception area. The aquabana sat unused the entire time we were there. The beach is unswimmable due to shallow waters even at high tide and it has an odor. We didn’t use any of the watercraft. We did visit Curry Hammock State Park and paid to use their kayaks. We kayaked through the mangroves and stopped at a sandbar. We highly recommend the state park. We did enjoy the rooftop restaurant with good food and live music. The waitstaff were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we will not come back for another stay here due mostly to the lackluster accommodations in the Conch House.

So clean and peaceful. The staff are the kindest people & super friendly.

No complaints about the property at all Not the properties fault but there are limited sun beds & people put towels down & didn’t use them all day

This was a mother/daughter trip. The grounds are beautiful and everyone was so friendly. We were right next to the highway so was noisy at night. Only thing I would change in the unit itself would be take out the tub and install a walk in shower. I would recommend Grassy Flats to my friends and family.

We stayed in the adults only building. Room was updated m,comfortable and very clean. There was a large balcony with a beautiful view of the ocean. There were two pools and a hot tub which were clean and well maintained along with a tiki bar with a friendly bartender. They have a restaurant and a top floor deck bar with live music which we enjoyed during our stay. This property is in a secluded area a few miles north of Marathon so was very quiet and relaxing. If the goal is a relaxing quiet trip, this is a great option. The room was exceptional and the staff was super friendly and accommodating.

The complex was pretty quiet at night with not a ton to do outside of the rooftop bar. Marathon has a light ordinance from dusk to dawn so being November when the sun sets by 545pm it was pretty dark and quiet in the complex without pool lights on so basically closed for use. Other times of year it wouldn’t be a big deal. Marathon is a bit of a drive and doesn’t have much of a “downtown “ to walk around. Limited beach to sit by but enjoyable when not low tide(the ocean receded to the point it was mucky and had exposed islands). We weren’t swimming in the ocean so it wasn’t a huge deal and the view made up for this.

The staff was very friendly and even left a sweet card for my husband and I for celebrating our 7th wedding anniversary there. The room was clean and spacious. The restaurants had amazing food and the store had everything we needed. I really liked the ocean view and my husband and I felt very relaxed. It was really nice the resort had extra curricular activities equipment we could use such as kayaks and bikes for use.

We absolutely loved the rooms and the resort.Also having restaurants and a general store was a bonus. Everyone there was fantastic making the resort better.
