Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Ithaca, NY

The room temp was good. Bed & pillows were ok. No bad smells. Hotel room keys were great, didnt have to get them reprogrammed during the visit. Breakfast did have 1 waffle maker, it made 4 mini waffles at a time. Coffee was ok, they use international delight french vanilla creamer - a plus for us. A few choices of breakast cereals, a small decanter of milk in refrigerator. Had 1 choice of yoplait yogurt - strawberry banana. Hot breakfast was sausage gravy & biscuits & bacon slices (see didnt like below about bacon). TV's do have timers for shut off. Did have hot water for showers.

Hotel suite was expensive for what they offered. The entire parking lot of hotel is filled with pot holes, hard to miss them. Huge noticeable spot on sofa upon entry of hotel - in lobby, gave us automatic feeling of unclean environment. We only stayed 1 night. When entering our room - we had a suite, the coffee table had a uncleaned plate size spot in the middle of it. Breakfast was not satisfory. Breakast was see thru bacon - no eggs. Only green bananas available. No other fruit. Lots of people filling water bottles that morning, i suggest maybe a fountain for them for easier access intead of the juice dispenser. The hotel furniture is run down, dirty & shows it - the couches, etc need cleaning / replaced. I wouldnt stay there again, just doesnt feel clean & not enough good breakfast choices.

A restful night and a good breakfast, exactly what we needed to recharge for the road ahead.

Only downsides were the noise coming from the next room and the lack of outlets to charge our phones.

When I arrived to check in, the owner was present. He informed me that the room I had reserved, which included a hot tub and had been booked and paid for over a month in advance, was not available. Instead of taking responsibility, he attempted to shift the blame onto me, Hotels.com, or anything other than his own failure. He also became offended at the suggestion that he may have made a mistake, which gave me the impression this is a common occurrence. He then threatened to cancel my reservation entirely due to his own inability to honor it, seemingly out of concern for facing consequences over how he handled the situation. After I managed to calm him down, as his behavior was unprofessional, he provided me with a standard room instead. He mentioned that he had only acquired the hotel ten days prior and again tried to use that as an excuse for the situation. All he had to do not to get roasted in reviews was admit he messed up and offer something back to make up for it, instead he said he 'compromised' and gave me a standard room. Beware this place under new ownership, the owners seem like amateurs. Once I checked into the room, I found it to be very dirty. There was a torn curtain, dents on multiple surfaces, and the overall condition was poor. The pillows were worn out and barely held their shape, and the pillowcases were not clean. Hoping to salvage the stay, I put on my swim trunks and went to use the pool, only to find that it was closed indefinitely with no prior notice. This place is an embarrassment. There are enough deep potholes in the parking lot to cause serious damage to your car too.

The property is in a central location to Ithaca College and downtown. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

There was a big rip in one of the curtains, the water spout in the bathtub was coming off the wall, and the breakfast room was not fully stocked with plastic cutlery and selected food items.
