Hoover Dam Lodge

This lodge is wonderfully close to the Hoover Dam, and has a trailhead right in the back of the parking lot! Loved being so close to the natural beauty. Also, a few members of staff were incredibly lovely! They were attentive, kind, and were great with our dog. The casino was completely dead, which we actually kind of loved because it meant we got to choose whichever machine we wanted.

To say this facility is filthy and run down is a complete understatement. Upon arrival we had to switch rooms three times, just so that we could pick the least filthy of the three (even the staff was shocked at how gross the rooms were). This meant we ended up with a room right on the parking lot, so we had to have our curtains closed the whole time if we wanted any semblance of privacy. Which meant we were left with a dark room, as there is minimal lighting. Hair all over the ground, toilet, walls. Brown splatters. White crusty stuff on the remote. Stains and dirt on the sheets. Stains and cigarette burns on the curtains. Everything was caked with years of dirt and grime. The kicker was finding cockroaches in our room, at which point we decided to check out early. I just can’t convey how truly dirty this room (and the others we saw) was. Not to mention the Wi-Fi didn’t work once while we were there, and had zero cell service. So our phones were useless. This would have been fine except the TV only had antennae service, so local channels only. We felt like we had traveled back to the 90’s! There’s also no pet area for dogs, so our poor little 14 year old dog had to try to navigate either the scalding hot parking lot or cactus and sharp rock laden areas. This is shameful for being pet friendly! Then, their restaurant was closed, so we had to get “food” from the bar. It was completely inedible, so my husband didn’t even eat his, and I was starving so I ate mine but ended up with GI issues. It was all just frozen food popped in the fryer for not nearly long enough, came out mushy, soft, and underdone. Gross. Also no coffee machines in the room, so we got coffee (for free, the only bonus) from the shop in the casino. However, even first thing in the morning, it was ice cold. Which told us they were just reusing the same coffee from the day before!!

The cleaning lady was extremely rude, shouted in the hallway we were 3 minutes over the time for getting out of the room, and talking loudly to herself about us while walking away so we both could hear her far down the corridor.

We had a great stay. Beautiful surroundings

It wasn't crowded!!!! Friendly staff, great food, atmosphere seemed very safe.

The toilet was running all night could hear the plumbing from the other rooms. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. The front desk said upon check-in that the ice machines were not working if we wanted ice to come to the desk and get it however they were not very friendly in fact the woman working the following day we were departing was just downright nasty. We have been traveling for about a month now visiting each state and I can say out of the 27 hotels we have stayed at by far the rudest yet. Therefore I don't recommend a stay here. There are many other options nearby to have to waste your money there. In a positive note outside of the front desk the little cafe store they had there had the nicest staff and cheap food.

This property may be a little dated, but it gives you small townhome experience. For one don’t like the business and the loudness of staying in a hotel on this trip. This hotel provides the perfect getaway.

Room was nice. Didn't have full restaurants. Which was a bummer. Great trail to walk to Hoover Dam.

Good location near freeway, but far enough to be quiet. The 5 "restaurants in the casino" were not for dinining in, but take out. Food was basicaly microwaved, so no real cooking. Electrical system in room was Fred Flintstone with just receptacles and no USB hookups. Room was very large but bathroom sink area was very smal with a dinky sink and counter
