Staff were lovely and very helpful. Breakfast was excellent as was dinner. The property has sky sports TV which was very good as the Ryder Cup was on. It's a dog friendly property which I enjoyed as they were all on leash so no doggie disputes and it was lovely to be able to pet them. My husband unfortunately is allergic, so he couldn't pet them, despite wanting to.

The location was a bit quiet for us as you really had to drive to get anywhere. There is a 6.5 mile ramble but we didn't have time to do that. The main reason for not giving higher marks was we felt the property could do with a makeover, and the attic suite of rooms was not suitable because the height restrictions throughout the suite meant we were constantly bent over and ended up with sore necks. My husband hit his head twice! There are notices saying "mind your head" but it was really not suitable for most people. I am 5'8" and my husband is 6' tall. The property was full so we couldn't ask for a change of room.

"A wonderful historic inn with a very good atmosphere."

Staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was spotless and the food very good. A problem I had with the shower on my first morning was resolved the same day with the fitting of a completely new unit, very impressive! Highly recommend and I will definitely stay here again.

The staff were exceptionally happy and friendly and the place felt quite relaxing.

The bed could do with mattress toppers as quite hard and the breakfast finished too early considering we were on holiday needing to relax and slow down. Also the morning after we ate there my husband had violent sickness and diarrhea. He had the fish and was ill all day.
