Wingate By Wyndham Charleston

We booked through a major third-party booking site for September. No info on the hotel, other sites said to contact hotel for bookings, and showed no rooms. Found out hotel is used as a dormitory August-December, and we had NO reservations. Cost us $200 extra to book a new hotel. BE AWARE!

All was great until learned that Hot Tub was not working. Primary for choosing this location

Took the Grands on their first cruise to the Bahamas. The cruise left out of Charleston SC, so we picked up the kids from their there last day of school and drove to Charleston to spend the night. We stayed at Wingate by Wyndham Charleston University Boulevard. Pros: Room was clean and well decorated. Overall, the hotel was very quiet Conveniently located for our needs. We chose Northern Charleston as it was less expensive then down town. Cons: AC unit was stuck on High-speed auto fan so every time the AC came on it was very loud. We stayed in a room that had a lovely view overlooking a courtyard patio; however, there were guests laughing and talking until after 11. I had to call the front deck and ask them to be quieter. The guests did oblige.

Easy access for travel purposes, close to event we were attending. Helpful staff.

We liked the cleanliness of the rooms and all other areas of the hotel. We liked the breakfast options, we liked the friendly staff that kept the food stocked and counters clean. We liked that the A/C unit kept us cool without loudly cycling on and off. We liked the comfortable beds and pillows. We DIDNT like having to leave!
