Alaska Glacier Lodge

The staff were very accommodating. Food was great . Don’t skip out on the helicopter flight. Cabins are great it was clean and had all the basic amenities. There’s a Very relaxing beautiful view right from the front porch. . Very peaceful atmosphere even had a moose come say hi this morning.

We were in cabin 14, a gorgeous cosy cabin with large comfortable bed, rocking chair, fridge, kettle. The heater worked really well and made it toasty and there was an outdoor deck with chairs. Super fast WiFi and charging stations on one side of the bed. The location is a little remote, but it was fascinating to watch the helicopters and to have the chance to do a spontaneous flight to the glacier.

It was clean, it was rustic but in a modern way, the area was peaceful, was right on the premises where the our activity took place. The Lodge itself was great. The service at the restaurant though was disappointing, a "thumbs down". So except for that alone, everything was great.

The word "service" is an unknown concept for this accommodation. At check-in, you are greeted by someone who wants to get rid of you as quickly as possible. Upon entering the simple restaurant, you are informed that the lady is alone and it may take a while before it's your turn (in practice, more than 30 minutes). The quality of the food is very mediocre. The room is not clean. At 7:00 p.m., the Wi-Fi, which was already bad, completely cuts out. At 8:00 p.m., the TV stops working. At 9:00 p.m., the electricity goes out and isn't restored until 4:00 a.m. No explanation is given as to why. The next morning, we informed the reception that we were leaving due to the above reasons and would not be staying the second night. No apologies, no explanation, nothing. The accommodation's publicity mentions how fun it is to watch departing helicopters. That activity is probably their business model. But when you're sitting on your room's terrace and five helicopters take off every 30 minutes from 100 meters away, you quickly get fed up with it.

We booked a last minute stay and helicopter tour here. We liked the remote feel of the property, but was disappointed that the microwaves had been removed from the cabins. Apparently they are no longer listed under amenities but are still shown in the pictures. We had food that needed to be reheated and had to walk to the restaurant and ask them to heat it. They did, but didn’t seem too happy, forgot about it and it was only lukewarm by the time we got it. We loved watching the helicopters take off and the convenience of being able to just walk there for our tour in morning. The person in the office that helped me book it worked so hard, they were sold out for the Grand Knik tour but she was able to make it happen. Our pilot Cameron was great. Highly recommend!!

Best stay I’ve had in a long time! The cabins are all close together but still felt private and relaxing. The bed was so comfortable, I was almost wishing for a rainy day so I could justifiably spend an afternoon laying around. There are tons of hiking trails nearby and if you get hungry, there is a restaurant only steps away from the cabins. I met some of the staff and they were SO friendly and accommodating. Mariah, the bartender was the highlight of my dining experience. She went above and beyond and was so accommodating. My favorite thing about this experience was the helicopter tour to the glacier. I’ve never seen anything like it before. The guide, Adam was really friendly and so knowledgeable. He told the group all about the land and was the first to step in and make sure everyone was safe and comfortable. I would 100% recommend this to anyone! As a woman solo traveler I felt extremely safe and comfortable.
