Alaska Glacier Lodge

Loved everything!!

Alaska Glacier Lodge has amazing views. The cabin was very clean and spacious. The beds were comfortable, towels were soft and fluffy. The porch was great for enjoying the view and watching the helicopters take off and land.

The property was just about an hour outside is Anchorage. It is where the helicopter tours launch from. Was not too loud and the views were great. They have a full resturant and bar. The rooms are little cabins. They have WiFi and worked for us.

We loved the location on Knik River. The cabin was clean and had all the amenities we could want. We loved the views and the available restaurant on site. Our waitstaff at dinner was helpful and polite. The dinner we had was good.

The front desk staff were unprofessional at check in, angry at another employee for something they failed to do that had nothing to do with our check in. I have no idea what was wrong with him, truly. The cabin stunk strongly of ammonia! We had to open every window and run a fan to help reduce the nauseating smell. Seems like something you might do if you had a mouse problem perhaps? There was a disconnected gas pipe in the bathroom from where you may have moved a heater that seemed unsafe since you could easily bump the knob to open that gas line. Safety issue? We were told there would be a hot breakfast, but somehow your staff didn't realize the propane was out. We got one cup of coffee each and a cold muffin before the coffee ran out. The oranges had obvious mold on them. Meanwhile, the staff seemed to be having a great time in the kitchen. While I'm sure the heli-tours is more of your business, I would suggest some of these issues may start to bleed into that. While our stay was ok, I'm not sure I would recommend your cabins to anyone.

Amy in reception was very friendly and helpful and went out of her way to help us and made us feel very welcome . We had breakfast and dinner in the restaurant which was very good, had a good vibe and fabulous views of the surrounding mountains from inside and out on the decking . Trevor serving us was very good . My only suggestion would be to have some GF bread as an alternative option .

Alaska Glacier Lodge was an amazing experience! Set in one of the most stunningly beautiful places I have ever been, the cabins were incredibly clean and comfortable which made for a great stay after a long day of fun on the glacier and the surrounding trails. We had a chance to eat dinner at the Raven’s Perch which besides having amazing food, also has one of the grandest views of any restaurant. The entire staff was professional and attentive, communicating well to ensure that everything would be just right when we arrived. If you are looking to experience Alaska and do it in amazing style, Alaska Glacier Lodge is the place to do it!

Unit 6, smells like sewer! Brown dried stains on wall in front of toilet!refrig does not come on. No air or fan. given different room, #5 No carafe for coffee maker, no coffee. Very hot and stuffy, opened all windows I am paying much less for the Alyeska resort in Girdwood, that is fully furnished, stocked, immaculate plus AC and fan! Served very old brown/black mushy lettuce in my halibut sandwich and side salad, bun was old and stale. Served old flat procecco, no bubbles! What next?? No customer service. This establishment needs to be reported to DOH. The worst I have ever seen. I booked this as I wanted to see Palmer since I went up to the park thru Wasilla. This is no where near a town, no services and no opportunity to get another place to stay or a meal. My BAD for thinking this was in Palmer! Good thing I got gas in Wasilla as I had No idea I would be driving 20 miles out in the country away from the Hwy then 20 miles back to the highway. Be ashamed!! NOT how you treat visitors and guests to the great state of Alaska! You do need the Health dept to assist in your cleanliness and customer service in hospitality and safe food handling. Need I say more???
