The breakfast was excellent and staff is very friendly. The place is clean and well kept, quiet habitable.

The place is over sold on Booking.com. the location is completely different from how it is perceived on Booking.com.

Mr Behera, the owner of this hotel, treated me like family during my stay here. So much so that I extended my stay from 1 week, to 3 weeks. From offering me his motorbike, to preparing special lunches for us both, you couldn't ask for a more hospitable person. The views from the hotel's top floor are amazing, and the location is absolutely ideal. I'll definitely be back in Stone Town in the future, and I'll definitely be staying here again.

Disappointed Experience at Al Johari Hotel, Zanzibar Rating: ⭐️⭐️ My recent stay at the Al Johari Hotel in Zanzibar left me with a sense of disappointment, overshadowing what could have been an enjoyable experience. The hotel itself is not bad; it boasts a good location and a charming ambiance that captures the essence of Stone Town. However, my overall impression was marred by a significant issue that occurred during my stay. Regrettably, I left some of my clothes in the cupboard of my room. It was only after a few hours of my departure that I realized my mistake. When I contacted the manager to inquire about the possibility of retrieving my belongings, I was met with a disheartening response. The manager informed me that my clothes were not found in the room and offered a brief apology. Losing personal belongings is always a distressing experience, and the lack of a more proactive and empathetic response from the hotel staff only added to my disappointment. The incident left me feeling unsupported and frustrated, as the response seemed indifferent to the inconvenience caused. While Al Johari Hotel has its merits, such as its central location and pleasant atmosphere, the unfortunate incident with the lost clothes overshadowed the positive aspects of my stay. Hotels must prioritize the security and safekeeping of guests' belongings, and my experience in this regard was far from satisfactory. In conclusion, while Al Johari Hotel may appeal to those seeking a convenient location in Stone Town, my personal experience with the loss of belongings and the hotel's response has left a lasting negative impression on my overall perception of the establishment.

Great stay in a great location, in the centre of Stonetown. Rooftop with a great view over the sea and for sunset. Very kind staff. Wifi is working great.

As it is central, it gets quite loud in the evening / at night.
