Lovely big room really clean and comfortable and the staff were amazing

Initial room provided at the rear of hotel had noisy extractor immediately behind and faced a wall. I do not understand why hotel does this when they have other decent rooms available, particularly as we checked in fairly late in the day so hardly needed to hold back. Moved rooms to side facing view of the harbour with small upgrade fee however double bed was very uncomfortable. Such a simple thing which let down an otherwise faultless stay but a decent bed and good night's sleep is a basic necessity in a hotel so if this reflects the beds all round I would definitely recommend this hotel upgrade their mattresses!

The staff went far and beyond to accommodate us when we arrived late at night.

We had a balcony room that wasn’t cleaned ready to receive us I did tell reception but it was not swept and I used my own cloth to wipe down the table and chairs. It probably wouldn’t have been as much as an issue if the weather had been poor.

Had to change rooms twice , firstly given a disabled room which was very triggering as I cared for my elderly disabled parents for decades . Then put in a room that had water hot enough to peel your skin ( no warning sign ) Clearly rarely pull the beds out to clean Dirt on the bed Laundry stickers on the pillow cases An emergency exit light so bright it kept you awake . Excessive heat although the radiator was off and the window was open . Woken from our brief exhausted slumber by the beer cellar fan that kicks in at 0620 every morning. Rude chef who claims to be the owner of the establishment, however the hotel is owned by a coach company! This is a coach party hotel so regular guests are not the focus of the business .
