Seaside Amelia Inn - Amelia Island

This was my second visit to this hotel. Its a nice hotel on the beach and convenient to parks and restaurants. I'd consider it about a 2.5 star with a nice breakfast and all day coffee service provided. The room was clean but small, and the staff was friendly. Although it seems to be a somewhat older inn, it is being maintained well. Biggest downside for me is that they have recently begun charging 15 dollars per day plus sales tax for parking. This was not disclosed to me by Priceline, who I booked through, nor the inn. The charge was made to my credit card the day of my departure and discovered by me when I checked my credit card statement. Parking is sketchy at best, as the spaces are very small, and many are located in an underground lot that is shared with a condo. Spaces along the side of the hotel that seem to be hotel parking are actually part of an adjoining beach park, and you will be towed after midnight. Like most travelers, I hate parking fees at hotels that already heap on added fees. I probably won't stay here in the future, as there are numerous beaches with free parking available.

The location was wonderful! Breakfast and coffee machine in lobby was good.

Older hotel definitely needed updates in the room. When first approached front desk with a slight issue, person was less than helpful. When I went back a couple days later, the front desk person was more helpful, however when I explained issues I had and what room I was in, the attendant said, “oh I know that room!” That sure didn’t make me feel better.

Top Lage am Strand und ganztägig frischer Kaffee und Kaffeespezialitäten am Automaten. Super seitlicher Blick vom Balkon zum Meer. Gute Anbindung an den State Park und ins historische Zentrum von Fernandina mit jeder Menge Shops und Restaurants (10 Minuten Fahrt). Kostenlose Handtücher für den Strand.

Parkplätze sehr begrenzt/beengt und seit Nov. 25 mit 15 Dollar pro Nacht Gebühr. Leider sehr uninteressiertes Personal an der Rezeption, Unordnung in den öffentlichen Bereichen. Von "fabelhaftem" Frühstück kann keine Rede sein. Normaler amerikanischer Ketten-Standard, sogar eher unterdurchschnittlich. Kalter und ungemütlicher Frühstücksraum. Zimmer und Ausstattung sehr in die Jahre gekommen mit lauter, alter Klimaanlage und dazu sehr hellhörig. Da das Meer so nah ist, haben wir den Pool nicht genutzt. Ausleihe für Schirm/Strandstühle gegen Gebühr zu teuer. Schade, das Haus hat echt Potenzial.

The location is unmatched. You are right on the beach. I really enjoyed how the hotel is pet-friendly and loved seeing all the doggies. They even had a little setup in the lobby with treats and water for dogs, which I thought was a sweet touch.

The layout of the room was odd. The ebd was closest to the door while the living/lounge area was on the other side, closest to the balcony. I would've preferred it the other way around just for safety and noise control.

Amazing location...right on the beach. Hotel was clean and well maintained. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
