Gualala Surf Inn on the ocean bluff

Bed wasn't comfortable .There's a really bad smell in the cabinet where the refrigerator is when you open it

Lovely place usually but had a bad experience that should be reviewed . I went to fill ice bucket, left lid in room, and after filling and replacing lid, realized the inside of the lid was covered in dried vomit. Almost did not see it… brushed that off and then found a crusty spot of bodily fluid on the sofa. Initially when reported the response made me feel like I was complaining to get an upgrade. The rooms they offered were a downgrade to a smaller room. They did end up putting me in a room w view but I had no kitchenette and had planned to eat in. I ended up getting very ill for 3 days, beginning the morning of my departure, with a very bad stomach virus, without holding fluids or able to eat for 2days, and took 2 days off of work. I’ve stayed here many times and do think it can be great but also pretty sure why I got so sick. Lovely views.

The proximity to gualala bluff trails, the view of sunset along with firepit made available for guest use.

Nothing major that stands out.

Cleanliness was top notch. View is spectacular. Several dining options were within walking distance. The manager and staff were very accommodating. I enjoyed my first night so much I decided to stay two additional nights.

Was allowed early check-in; only wanted to connect to wide, but was allowed to check into room before noon; much appreciated
