Glacier View Lodge

The location is nerby of the glacier, the view is amazing, the food is super good and no to expensive. In the bulding there is restaurants and gift shop. I recommand this hotel if you want to explore the glacier and if you want to rest mid way between Banff and Jasper.

The heating didn’t work properly. You definitely need to improve your check in process. We had to wander around figuring out where to go.

It is pricey but its worth it! As it's the only place in the area, food will be pricey! Spent the night there with the family and arriving to cocktails and a charcuterie board was definitely fun! I would recommend staying the night so your not in a rush and get to enjoy the area!

we stay here for two day, very good exprierence over all, staffs are friendly, room is very clean, especially love the view at the lobby, can sit there for the view whole day. the only cons is the room is a little bit cold and the airconditioner cannot be adjust.

We booked the Columbia Icefield Adventure that is based here and the trip was fantastic! After the adventure, we drove north to Jasper. On our way back from Jasper. approximately 3 miles before the hotel, our car broke down in the middle of the road at night, with no cell service. Fortunately, someone stopped and gave us a ride to the hotel. The manager of the hotel was able to get us a room and was very kind. The staff at the restaurant were very kind too. We truly appreciated everyone's kindness, oh.... the room was so comfortable and the meals were delicious.

We stayed one night on their package which included the nights stay, a trip to the skywalk and the ice explorer excursion. Staff very friendly and welcoming. All the excursions were very well organised - the evening skywalk was postponed to the next day due to lightning but it actually worked out better as it was a nice clear morning and the views were great. The room was a good size and well furnished. Temperature was fine in the room. Good bathroom and nice shower. Altitude restaurant was nice - but the only option for dinner and breakfast. The stay was quite expensive for what it is, but I think that’s due to the location.

The location of this hotel is fabulous! Perfect place to stay after driving up (or down) the Icefields Parkway. The hotel itself sits as part of the visitor centre, on the top floor. When you arrive you have to call them to get a code which will unlock the gate. The car park is a little bit of a distance from the entrance so make sure you have everything with you (I had to go back to the car which wasn’t nice in the cold and rain!). The reception area is lovely and the view is spectacular. Check in was quick and simple and they were kind enough to accommodate us even though we did arrive about an hour before check in time. There is a complementary cocktail and charcuterie reception held from 5-7 each evening which is a lovely touch and tea, coffee and hot chocolate are available round the clock. The room itself was beautiful and well equipped with everything you would need. The toiletries were a gorgeous scent and these were available to buy from the front desk. We ate in Altitude restaurant which was very tasty indeed. There is another place to eat but it is a quick service type place and closed much earlier. There is also a Starbucks on site which is very nice indeed and the staff in there were so friendly! I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again - one thing to note though is that it is chilly! The heating for all rooms is centrally controlled and you cannot adjust the temperature in your room! I asked if it could be turned up but this wasn’t possible but I was offered extra blankets and I was very cosy all night!
