L’hôtel est absolument magnifique. Les chambres sont spacieuses , bien agencées et la literie est très confortable. Le personnel est souriant , accueillant et se plie en quatre pour aider et conseiller. Le petit déjeuner est copieux et bon.

Il faut seulement être conscient de la localisation un peu excentree de l’hôtel, ce qui implique peut être davantage de taxis (surtout avec des enfants)

Wir haben insgesamt fünf Nächte im Melati Beach Resort & Spa verbracht, sind jedoch mit gemischten Gefühlen abgereist. Als Gäste, die im Voraus gebucht und bezahlt haben, war unsere Erwartungshaltung an ein 5-Sterne-Haus entsprechend hoch – leider wurde diese nur teilweise erfüllt. ​Zimmerzuteilung bei Anreise: Der größte Minuspunkt war der Start unseres Urlaubs. Wir erhielten nicht die gebuchte Kategorie. Die uns zugewiesene Unterkunft lag außerhalb der gepflegten Gartenanlage und weit ab vom Strand. Das ist bei einem Resort dieser Preisklasse absolut inakzeptabel. ​Zustand der Anlage: Das Hotel sowie die Zimmer sind spürbar in die Jahre gekommen. Sowohl die allgemeine Ausstattung als auch die Details im Zimmer entsprechen nicht mehr dem aktuellen Standard eines modernen 5-Sterne-Resorts. Hier wäre eine grundlegende Renovierung dringend nötig. ​Upgrade: Nach unserer Beschwerde wurde uns für die letzten zwei Nächte ein Upgrade in eine Pool Villa angeboten. Dieser Umzug hat den Aufenthalt zwar versöhnlicher gestaltet, konnte die Enttäuschung der ersten drei Tage jedoch nicht ganz wettmachen. Fazit: Wer ein erstklassiges 5-Sterne-Erlebnis sucht, wird hier enttäuscht, sofern man nicht direkt in den Villen untergebracht ist. Die Lage außerhalb der Anlage für zahlende Gäste anzubieten, empfanden wir als sehr unglücklich. Wir würden das Hotel in seinem aktuellen Zustand eher im 4-Sterne-Bereich ansiedeln.

I really loved this hotel. Gorgeous landscaping and beautifully laid out. It felt boutiquey and authentically Thai. Wonderful welcome from front of house team and excellent service all round. The room was a great size and I loved that they leave you a mosquito ring to light if you want to use the balcony. They also did mosquito fogging every day which was incredible for me as I get bitten to shreds. I hardly got any bites whilst staying here! Gorgeous adults only pool, and the main pool is also stunning with a swim up bar which runs 3 happy hours throughout the day/evening.

The opportunity cost of being on a gorgeous secluded beach with minimal noise etc is that you do need to get a taxi out in the evening which having read other reviews I was a bit worried about but it’s a good excuse to go and see different parts of the island, plus makes for some good running routes. It’s worth keeping this in mind though! The WiFi was a bit patchy which, as I was working, meant I needed to hotspot from my phone a lot when taking calls. You can get cheap Thai sims with unlimited data which can combat this. People put their towels on sunbeds at the crack of dawn which is really annoying as lots of them never get used. The staff should police this more. Kids club very cute but also very small. Felt busy with only one staff member which maybe they could revisit during holidays such as the Easter break when we came.

Our room (garden pool room) was beautiful, really spacious. The main pool was beautiful but tricky to get sunbeds near the shallow end as they were all reserved by 8am. Plenty of beds on the beach though. Kaji and the team on reception were incredibly helpful and friendly.

The grounds were beautiful and well maintained, loved the waterfalls. The swimming pools were lovely, the villas were large, beds were very comfy and huge. The staff were very friendly couldn’t fault them, food was good, breakfast selection was extensive.

Felt a little disorganised. 50 minutes wait for an iron, errors booking our airport return, inconsistent cocktails depending who made them, the singer in the Thai restaurant was too loud and not great, that restaurant doesn’t need live music at all, he should have been at the beach restaurant in my opinion. Unfortunately the villa pool was so cold we barely got to use it, there were no cushions on the outdoor villa lounge we had to use some from the bedroom. No idea if there was room service or not, we read there was but there was no in room menu provided aside from multi course banquets. There is a convenience store which was really disappointing. Nothing of any use in there considering you are so far from other shops this really needs to be improved. There was a really awful smell in the bathroom for most of our stay too.
