Best Western Harker Heights

This hotel worked well for our overnight stay. It was very clean and well maintained. The staff were excellent! Friendly and helpful!

Breakfast was good, great waffles. coffee was Meh. The pool area was very refreshing on a hot Texas day. no one else was at the pool and it was pad locked "to keep the locals out" I was told. I had to unlock it and bring the key back to the desk. (like the restroom at a convenience store) LOL

My room (while clean) smelled like wet dog. I told the front desk person that i could deal with it because i arrived at midnight and just wanted to sleep. I was hopeful the maid service the next day would rectify the smell. NOT. I took a Glade plug in from the hallway and put it in my room for the duration of my stay. Still smelled like a wet dog but with spring flowers now.

We stayed for 5 days while visiting friends in the area. The hotel was just what we needed. The best thing about the hotel was the friendly and helpful employees, they were wonderful. We would stay at this hotel again in the future.

The pool was locked up with a chain. Didn't understand why it would be lock during the time that the pool was supposed to be opened. The breakfast was ok, but it could have been a few more choices. Check in was easy, the room had a slight smell to it. I'm guessing from it been clean. But after I sprayed air freshener it was better. The air conditioner was great. Had to cut it off a few times, because it had got so cold in the room. The location was great everything was within a 10 minutes span.

The hotel was just ok. It seems to be a very old hotel that has had a little remodeling done but could use much more. The are isn't great but convenient for me as I was within a short distance to family I was visiting. The staff were all exceptionally nice...kudos there.
