Sugar Marina Hotel – FASHION – Kata Beach

We booked a 'Pool Access' room and were very glad we did. This room was located on the ground floor with a small balcony that stepped straight out into the centeral pool area. Well worth the couple of extra $$. The room was fantastic with lots of space and everything in good working order. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The reception area, bar and breakfast room were lacked lustre but this may have been due to the renovations currently underway. The staff were pleasant and helpful but not overly friendly. Breakfast was eddible but only if you sat outside away from the smell (something like old fish). This was not a problem as there is a fantastic restaurant nextdoor, Nathalies2, that is very cheap and delicious. Best location in Kata Beach. FYI: Kata Beach is a very popular spot with Russians (who are not overly friendly and like to stick to themselves) and many of the restuarants are owned by Russians or cater to them

Got the pool view room which layout, amenities and everything are ok but my friend's garden view room was MUCH MUCH spacious. Breakfast is ok but closes wayyyyyyy too early. 10:30 sharp and the staff is cleaning away the food. Other than that it's fine. Pool is small and the pool access rooms are definitely not worth it. Free minibar includes a beer, 2 bottles of water and a can of soda. Not that impressive. The Sugar Palm Hillside is much more luxurious than this one but no complaints due to the price difference. Reminds me of a well designed springbreak hotel rather than a weekend hideaway.

We enjoyed staying at this hotel very much. Unfortunately Kata Beach was disappointing as a destination but staying at this lovely hotel was very enjoyable. We had a lovely dinner via room service and the breakfast buffet had an impressive choice of food. The pool was very nice and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The room was very comfortable and modern with a lovely balcony. It was very convenient to some shops and the beach.

Sugar marina, was okay. Breakfast was not too bad. The king size bed was made up of 2 single bed, so it kinda felt weird. The toilet maintenance could have been done better, very rusty gutters, kinda turns me off, in the hunter theme room. The tap area as well.

Great hotel with convenient location and very friendly staff. Breakfast is amazing!

If your after a resort atmosphere this is not the motel. No children facilities. Rooms are average. Even though the weather is tropical, I still like a good hot shower. Water pressure poor, luke warm water. First room we were in had holes in it. Missing items in bathroom. We stayed in 3 rooms all very poorly painted. Mini bar consists of 1 chocolate bar, 2 bottles of water and 1 can of local beer. Not worth getting. Breakfast is very good value. Staff very friendly. Room service very good if you can get them (we had to order through reception).

Our stay was great until the end. Staff were friendly and facilities good, but showers cold. We unfortunately left our phone in our room, on the bed at checkout. When we realised our mistake about 15 mins later the phone had been stolen by one of the staff.

First and only problem,lack of any draws for my clothes,the staff were great,the restaurant and staff there very professional,food excellent, rooms comfortable, clean, more than adequate,overall, a great holiday, thankyou staff.
