Location good. Staff all lovely except manager.

We booked a suite for three nights arriving Friday evening. First thing Saturday AM we told Reception our room was not a suite and was massively over-priced @ approx $890(£710) for our stay. We asked to speak to the manager but he was not there. It seems he seldom is. However, Reception staff were friendly and reasonable. They said it was only called a ‘suite’ because it had a view of Valparaiso’s docks. They agreed we were paying too much – especially given the online price shown on booking.com for the next three nights was under $280(£223), see photo. They offered to reduce our cost substantially. Then on Saturday evening they were embarrassed to tell us that they been over-ruled by the hotel manager, Señor Custillas. He would not speak or meet and by email refused to agree a compromise price. Reception finally gave us a $50/night rebate – by no means enough but something. ZeroHotel is probably only a side hustle for the manager which is just as well as he should probably not be in the hospitality business. He completely ruined our Valpa visit.

This is an amazing, cozy, and beautiful place. The views are outstanding!! The staff was very kind.

We loved this hotel. Part hotel, part B&B. The staff was so helpful & welcoming, the views amazing, the breakfast delicious. In the middle of the old quarter and easy walk to excellent food.

Location fabulous with wonderful views over Valparaiso harbour. Close to funicular museums galleries and restaurants Choose room 3 for a great sitting area .

Everything was perfect here. The staff was so nice and accommodating right from the start. Our room was exactly what I expected and had a lovely view. The bed was comfortable, the shower was great and there was plenty of hot water. The breakfast was very good - it was a buffet but there was staff available to cook eggs upon request and to bring you anything that was missing. They have limited parking and you have to reserve a space ahead of time.

Unbelievable views and beautiful building, perfect location, great breakfast and kind and wonderful staff! One of our favourite hotels in our 6 months of travelling!

Nothing!

First and foremost: excellent staff who couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful. For example, on learning that we were to be picked up quite early on the morning of departure they offered to bring forward service of breakfast from 8.30 to 7.30 so that we could eat before leaving. Apart from that, this is a comfortable stylish hotel with very good facilities (excellent WiFi), well positioned halfway up Valparaiso’s hill, close to several very good restaurants, and good value.

In the heart of one of the most picturesque areas of the city this hotel is a perfect base to explore. Easy walking to dinner and shopping. Quiet and the staff is wonderful. Thank you!

The crew was very, very nice and helpful. A view from the hotel room was extraordinary, and so as the terraces. Definitely a place I’d love to come back.
