Comfortable and clean with very friendly and helpful staff. Great free parking and close to everything.

Our television didn't work and the hotel staff couldn't help and didn't care. I would not recommend this hotel. Overall, in need of renovation.

As a frequent traveler along the East Coast, I've had the opportunity to stay in numerous hotels. However, Residence Inn Birmingham Hoover stands out as one of the best I've experienced. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the cleanliness and exceptional hospitality provided by the staff, particularly Michele, Chantel, and Chequetta. The hotel truly feels like a home away from home, and I always look forward to staying here when I visit Birmingham, AL. The complimentary breakfast is amazing, and I greatly appreciate the added convenience of having free popcorn and cookies available throughout my stay. The hotel's location, directly across from a Walmart, Buffalo Wild Wings, and a gym, is incredibly practical and situated in a safe, family-friendly area. I've never had any issues with car break-ins or concerns about the neighborhood, which is a testament to the hotel's excellent security and prime location. Overall, Residence Inn Birmingham Hoover has become my go-to choice for accommodations in the Birmingham area, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a comfortable, clean, and welcoming hotel experience. Thank YOU Michele Chantel and Chequetta for always greeting me with a smile and treating me like a person not guest a customer.

The unique thing about our room, which I love, are the doors that separated the sleeping area from the living room, bathroom, and kitchen areas.

I am a Marriott Bonvoy member and have been staying at Residence Inn since 1998 in Montgomery and Hoover and other properties . Prior to that I stayed at the Courtyard. This particular RI has been my favorite place since 2000 as my daughter is on a special diet and the kitchen facilities were necessary. Have been staying here at least once a year when visiting family. Always loved it here until the renovations. I managed to tolerate the renovations on 2003 and my stay in March of this year was perfect. This past weekend was absolutely horrible. My Marriott profile states that I need an Accessible room as I am 82 years old and have medical problems and have difficulty walking. This past weekend's visit had me in a room at the very end of the corridor (too long a walk for me) with a bathroom no larger than my lavette at home. It Did have a walk-in shower but the door opened inward which was odd. I had to stand next to the commode to open the door to get out of it My daughter had to straddle the commode to open the door to get out. Had I had a stroke or fallen in the room, the EMTs would not have been able to get to me without taking the hinges off the door. I was totally disappointed with RI management for putting me in a room like that.I did call the desk and ask for a SAFER room but was told they were full. Also I used to love Marriott because the bedding (comforter) was so puffy and warm. Now they are thin and weightless and Not warm. Two years in a row, I have asked for an extra blanket but was not provided one. Something has happened to RI in Hoover to make it less inviting.One thing I can compliment is their breakfast. Always good and Celiacs can eat there. Ironically, I had to stay at a Holiday Express in Columbus, MS the night before I was at RI. I have to say that hotel was excellent, and surpassed my stay at RI this time.

Nice staff

We can’t say enough good things about our stay at The Residence Inn. The AMAZING southern hospitality we received was incredible. Both Janet and Quetta were so warm and welcoming from the time of our arrival until our reluctant departure. We felt like we had been invited into someone’s home. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. The hotel was very nice and clean. Our hotel accommodations were even better than we expected. We lucked out having drinks and a fun taco bar dinner provided by the hotel on the Tuesday we checked in. The location was great! It was in a beautiful part of town with lots of restaurant and shopping options. We highly recommend this wonderful hotel. It did not disappoint.
