Hotel Laugarbakki

The bath room had bad smell of stinking, it impacted to our sleep. We reported at the front desk and asked for compensation. The front desk lady agreed to report to the hotel manager and will let us know the solution. But we did not hear any response after back home. Then we called Orbitz and Orbitz called hotel, and said we should heard the solution within 24 to 72 hours, while after 96 hours we still do not hear any response. The hotel bath room needs to be remodel. The hotel manager should response us for the compensation and Orbitz should let us know about the follow-up statues. Hotel rejected to provide any compensation for the bad smell of stinking in the bath room and its impacts to our stay (poor quality). I will not recommend this hotel to any visitor due to they keep telling the truth.

Nice hotel. The breakfast was good. The room has a lot of space with an interesting layout for the beds.

Wow. We were the only ones here and everyone was very kind and attentive. We dined here for dinner and breakfast. It’s a very simple (hamburgers) menu but also it’s family owned and operated. Would stay here again. The view is amazing and the room was adequate.

Hotel staff friendly and room was very nice.

Just a one night stay on our Iceland adventure. Nice room in a scandi style. On the small side but perfectly acceptable for a short stay. It had everything we needed. Ate in the restaurant. Excellent food. Small choice for each course-would suit most folks. We opted for the seafood soup & wild mushroom soup as starters followed by mains of lamb & cod respectively. All good. Food is always pricey in Iceland but the quality was good. Very good breakfast on offer with a surprising amount of choice. Overall a very pleasant stay complimented by lovely staff. Happy to recommend.

Short overnight stay but it was nice

We were finishing a hike late on the west coast, and weren't going to make it to dinner on time, so I asked if they could prepare us a dinner so that we could just pick it up from reception. I'm also doing a carnivore diet, so I wanted a keto style burger. Not only did they have the chef make it fresh when I got there, but they also delivered it to the room. Plus, the chef nailed it out of the park and it was exactly what I wanted. Room was nice, we got to see the northern lights from our room, and service was spectacular.

This is a nice hotel, brand new looking, nice restaurant, in the absolute middle of nowhere. It is a nice stop a long the diamond loop in Iceland

The restaurant was fantastic and the hotel was perfect for a one night stay. Our room was a little on the small side and could have been a little cleaner. The outside of the hotel and grounds could use a little work, but other than that it was fine.

This hotel is a converted school. At first glance it seems very remote, but it's really not far from the town. The rooms are very clean. We ended up in their largest room, the family room which had a king bed, two single beds, and a couch that could double as a bed. We got our first glimpse of the northern lights here! The restaurant was very good. The bar is housed in the old gymnasium and has room for tables, a stage, and a dance floor. I can imagine this place really rocking in summer. We had a nice chat with the manager who showed a true passion for her chosen career. All in all it was a lovely stay.
