Sumaq Machu Picchu Hotel

We had a lovely stay at Sumaq Machu Picchu Hotel. The property is beautiful and very well located, the food was excellent, and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was outstanding, with a wide variety of delicious options. The hotel is highly recommended!

This is a really good hotel in an amazing location. We stayed 2 nights on our recent trip to visit Machu Picchu. The quality of the food and service from all the staff was of the highest level. The savoury corn pie starter was the best dish ever. Big shout out for the lovely Spa and the relaxing pedicure and massage from Eva. The absolute only awareness note, which has to be taken into context of the overall narrow valley in which the town is based and the amazing railway infrastructure, is that the narrow gauge line is next to the rear of the hotel. We had a room at the back, referred to as a Garden View on the 5th floor. Eye level with the line. Not excessive noise but just a point to note. Many other properties will be the same as the line cuts through the town. Didn’t spoil the experience for us and I would happily stay again.

Absolutely loved the warmth and welcome. The front desk went out of the way to make our stay comfortable. We had a complementary lunch which was amazing! Will highly recommend this place. The rooms, the view of the river and the vibes were great!

Location and staff

Amazing place, excellent staff. I took a cooking class, the Chef were phenomenal. I had a massage and was very relaxing. Dinner time Hermitaño was absolutely extraordinary, recommended me the best dishes and was always make sure everything was ok.

Great experience at the hotel! The rooms are comfortable and the staff are very friendly - shoutout to our waiter Luis during dinner he provided excellent service and was very knowledgeable about the food.

We had a great time with 2 of the hotel mixologists(Francisco &Sandra) at the hotel bar. We were introduced & had a great conversation as we explored several of Peru’s unique distilled alcohol.

Stayed at Sumaq for 3 nights. Hotel is clean and everyone is friendly and willing to help. We had dinner included in our stay and our server Luis was an absolute pleasure. He went above and beyond for us at dinner. Sandra behind the bar was also amazing and she can make every cocktail you can think of! I would recommend this hotel to anyone and can not wait to return here again!

My wife and I had a lovely dinner, food was delicate and tasteful, all with local products. Well done. On top of it we had the chance to have Lorena and Eduardo who accompany us all along the menu. Very great service. Also I had a massage (after the Inca trail, very much needed) Mary has been wonderful
