Great Trethew Manor Hotel & Restaurant

Staff are friendly and overall stay was pleasant. A few small issues but it didn't ruin the stay for me. I am mostly out and about on my holidays so not much time in the accommodation. -Kettle handle was greasy. -Cup and spoon had drinks residue (not thoroughly cleaned before arrival). -Bathroom floor was dirty (visible by wiping a dry tissue over it). -No bathroom light switch, light switches on/off of its own accord and mostly stays lit (not very eco). -On returning to my room one night there was a water leak from floor 2 leading all the way to ground floor (could be seen as potentially hazardous). -No running water one morning (I'm the type of person who's day doesn't start right without a morning wash), I had to use leftover water from a bottle to brush my teeth. -No hot water for the better part of 2 whole days.

A hidden gem just a short way from the coast. The hosts could not have been more welcoming and the food was delicious. Now I've found it I'll be back!

Great location friendly staff great food

This was a lovely place to stay for peace and quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food we found to be excellent. Will definitely go again if that’s the area we go to .

Thoroughly our stay, staff were lovely, the room was beautifully clean and comfortable. Food was amazing, highly recommended

Unfortunately the best thing i can say about this place is we left after 1 night even though we had booked 3 nights. We ordered food the first night and my gammon egg and chips came out cold so i told the waiter who took it away and 5 minutes later bought the exact plate of food out and the only thing they had done was put the egg back in the frying pan and burnt it around the edges but the meat and chips were exactly the same so unfortunately i didn't eat it and in all fairness to them they did not charge me for it. Then into the room and firstly there was no hot water for a shower and it seemed that the cleaner had not switched the boiler on? Later in the evening we were in bed when the room next door decided to have a bath (water was hot by then) and to say we could hear everything in the bath would be a understatement and even when they got up in the middle of the night to use the loo it was as if it was all happening in our room. So maybe we just had a bad room and the chef was new, The hotel had good reviews but after our experience we would not return here.

Very friendly & helpful staff. We were given a room with a 4 poster bed. Really nice evening meal. Lots of peacocks outside.

Excellent hotel with very good staff. Could only be improved by the installation of a lift

This was just a good inexpensive hotel - great peaceful setting and convenient for the places we wanted to visit. Did all we needed - we would definitely book again.

Great hotel, food, hospitality and rooms very fantastic. We will definitely be booking again.
