The front desk staff and the people who worked in the breakfast area were very friendly and helpful. Our original room had an issue with the toilet and we were immediately offered a room with a view of the mountains on the 3rd floor which was nice for our 3 night stay. The location of the hotel is in Oro Valley which is a very nice area of Tucson. We could walk to multiple restaurants. There is a very nice walking/biking trail accessed from the Holiday Inn parking lot so we could walk the trail and get some fresh air. We felt the price of the room was a very good value.

I think they must be updating some of the rooms. They are a little dated, probably needs the carpet cleaned, but everything works fine and it was nice having a refrigerator and microwave, with a nice closet and very large room.

It’s a fairly standard hotel frequented by fellow travelers visiting or working in the area. Room was clean with basic appointments. Breakfast was pretty good and better than most of this type of accommodation. Staff are all friendly and outgoing.

Housekeeping was non-existent, and we had to ask for a change of towels after a couple of nights without refresh. Windows have no privacy curtains to let in light but maintain privacy, only opaque black-out curtains. Pillows gave us headaches — too thick, spongy and unforgiveable.

We stayed here for two nights while looking at real estate. The hotel amenities are pretty much as you would expect for a chain hotel. It seems relatively new and clean enough, if spare.

Our low rating is because of problems we encountered each day of our stay. The room we were given when we checked in had a running toilet, which was going to drive us nuts while trying to sleep. The maintenance staff were gone for the day (this is only about 6 pm), so they enlisted the one housekeeper remaining to try to fix a toilet! She just wanted to go home after a long day, but managed to replace the defective flapper valve; unfortunately, the handle was not the right kind so it was not going to flush! After going to the front desk again, they gave us a new room, which had a much less desirable view, but oh well. The next day, after being out all day, there had been no housekeeping refresh to the room, so soiled towels and no refill on coffee pods. I went again to the front desk and they provided new stuff, but they should have been able to cover the basics. I give credit to the front desk staff and the one housekeeper for trying and being friendly, but this hotel is clearly understaffed and even though it appears new, it suffers from some basic issues. Not recommended. The last straw was a K-cup coffee maker that is a piece of crap — or maybe it’s the cups they provide; either way, we tried about 8 cycles and got maybe 2 cups of coffee out of it. On every score, the facilities are deficient and the over-extended staff is not keeping up.
