Ramada by Wyndham High River

Tried to check in early on a Sunday as we came to High River for a funeral that started at the same time as checkin. We’re told to call at 1.. nothing available. Told to call at 2 … nothing available. Ended up checking in at 5:30 after the funeral. Was with my parents who had requested a quiet room in their booking. They got a main floor handicapped room that opened onto the parking lot. I got what I had requested in my booking-a high floor room. When my parents asked to move to my floor, they were told that they had booked a “special room” that couldn’t be changed. They had not requested a special room, only a quiet room. It was never offered for me to move to the main floor but I wouldn’t have anyway being a woman alone. Ended up accepting room but apparently it was not quiet at all. Heard all of the road noise. I was 4 floors directly above them and heard nothing. Hotel was definitely not full so no reason that they couldn’t change Slept well, my room was large and clean Next morning when getting ready, I attempted to use the hotel provided hair dryer however it would not turn on. Since I hadn’t brought one, I called the front desk. A guy answered and said he’d be up to see what was wrong.I asked if he could just bring a replacement and he said they didn’t have any. I agreed for him to come up so I quickly got dressed. He never did show up and I was in the room for at least 45 minutes after calling. At breakfast staff said hello, however they were eating the food, one person was “cleaning” the shelves while ignoring the tables that were dirty. Waffle maker was not working so only hot dishes were fried potatoes, scrambled eggs and bacon. Appreciated that they had salsa for the eggs though. Upon returning to my room, neither of my keycards would work so back down I went. Absolutely no apology, just took my keycards, reprogrammed and handed back. Did not say a word. Overall, not impressed…

Nice hotel, quiet, great breakfast. Rooms are very large and beds are comfortable.

Staff was attentive and friendly. The room clean and the bed very comfortable. The hotel was quiet despite hockey teams being in attendance. The one small gripe was our room door did not close by itself completely and had to be shoved into closed. See you next year.

Last day of our Trip to BC and Alberta. Stopped in High River as I am a Heartland fan. Very nice hotel. We had a King suite, was very surprised by the size of room with seperate bedroom. Very nice pool and hot tub. Breakfast was also included and was very good.

Stayed for one night and my expectations were met or exceeded
