Courtyard by Marriott Atlanta Airport West

I am a 20 year plus business traveler with 700+ Marriott nights and this is pretty much the worst experience I've had in a Courtyard. After numerous airline delays, I realized I needed a hotel room for the night of July 31st for me and my two children. I went on the Bonvoy App and booked the Courtyard by Marriott Atlanta Airport West. I then immediately checked in on the app and indicated a late check in time of 2:30-3:00 AM. My check in was confirmed in the app and I requested a digital key. I then messaged the property via the Bonvoy app to reiterate that we were going to be coming in late due to flight delays and asked them to ensure they held our room type as we booked it specifically for the pull out bed. When we arrived at 3:00 am, exhausted from almost 20 hours of traveling, there were people sleeping in the lobby. As I approached the front desk, before I could even say hello, the clerk yelled at us "We haven't got any rooms! Don't ask!" I assured her I had a reservation and was checked in and just needed my digital key. She told me that the last of the rooms had been taken by at 11:00 (I was already checked in by then online) and that I would need to find somewhere else to stay. I asked for suggestions of where to call and she told me that "That's not my problem" and "I just work here" and "maybe try google". She did not apologize for the overbooking. She made no effort whatsoever to try to assist. Multiple other parties came into the lobby while I was calling 21 other hotels before finding a room. It's not just that they will oversell and then give your room away, that they do not know how to handle airline delays in check in, but also that they also charged me anyway (which, to be fair, they did reverse) and then in the moment did less than nothing to help rectify the situation. Avoid at all costs.

Convincent location and the shuttle ride.

Ice machine was broken on 1st and 2nd floor. My room didn't not have a refrigerator to keep my drinks cold.

Mold smell and mold on the ceiling, which was a health hazard. Had my Two small Grandkids in the room that has asthma

There isn’t anything that makes this hotel standout. This is your average hotel. They have limited dining services in the morning from 6am-10am and dinner from 5pm-9pm. Your room key resets at 12pm everyday so you will need to stop by the front desk for them to reactivate your key, which can be annoying when they have a line and are assisting other people for the same issue. We spent time at the pool for 2 days, but had to sit it short due to the large amounts of wasps and bees in the sitting area.
