Soar Mill Cove Hotel

Amazing location, friendly staff and nice restaurant

The mattress was tired, stayed for 2 nights and asked the hotel reception to do something about the mattress after 1st night as we had a terrible nights sleep. But alas same situation on night 2 as our request was ignored. We also had no hot water on day 2 which meant cold showers. Receptions reply “oh sorry about that”

As other guests have mentioned the location is great. We booked the hotel wanting a nice relaxing break and we very much got this. Very nice to be able to go for walks all around, including to the beach. We made use of the swimming pool and were the only guests in there which was a bonus. The quality of food at breakfast and dinner were both excellent. We enjoyed reading in the lounge and being able to see the herd of deer on the hill.

The hotel was great and we very much enjoyed our stay. A minor negative was the service at dinner which was a little slow.

The location of the hotel is superb, quite remote, so very peaceful. A short stroll down to Soar Mill Cove beach and easy access to the coastal path. Beautiful view from the restaurant. We sat eating our 5* breakfast watching a herd of deer to the front of the hotel! The food over all was excellent. The staff were all amazing. Decent pool for an early morning swim.

Rooms were comfortable, although the armchairs in the room were a little tired looking. The room was a little dark, overlooking the garden, but then we did do a last minute booking so couldn't expect a room with a coastal view.

We enjoyed every minute of being there. The comfort of beds, amazing views, quality of food, warm of sauna and proximity to hiking trails, professionalism and kindness of the staff, all these things made our trip wonderful!

Only a shower provided, not a bath - which is what was advertised and what I was told when I contacted the hotel to check. Still loved the room overall though.
