"Good"

They allow SMOKING in this property. We have asked for non smoking rooms and when we went to our room, it was smelling smoke. We went back to talk to the receptionist and we saw someone smoking in the corridor. They have ask trays by the elevator door. We went to complain but they said nothing they can do. Do not stay here if you want a smoke free place

"Good except the breakfast!"

Nice room. Staff friendly with good English, handy location.

Breakfast was poor (oily eggs, hardly any cheese available - surprising for a french hotel!, lack of western food variety especially bread, jam, and no other flavours of yogurt). Do not recommend.

Sofitel is a 5star hotel chain. However, this wasn’t close to a 5star experience. Especially the bathroom was rather dirty. Might have once been a great hotel, but absolutely not what I would expect

"Not a 5 star any more..."

Location is good, near Xuanwu Park.

Not sound proof, you hear everything of your next door neighbors, not a level for 5-star hotel. And I stayed in an upgraded room (a suit), maybe a normal room would even worse with all the noise around. Also the bathroom smells bad, it would be easy to perfume it everyday and get rid of the strong smell, but it seems no one really cares about it. Compared to 2019 before covid when I was staying there, the hotel really has been leveled down, a pity, I really liked it before...
