"NICE!!"

10.0

We really enjoyed our stay; the 2 BR villa was very nice, well appointed & spotless + we had a great view of the bay. We had a power outage (not uncommon in this part of the world) and our A/C was out for a while. I called engineering and they were right on it and I got 3 follow up calls to ensure that it was taken care of. VERY professional! Yes, there's only one restaurant on site but, the Cove has a shuttle that goes to the Westin (next door) which has 3 or 4 restaurants. And, the food, bar, and nightly entertainment at the restaurant on site was very good. And, being a Marriott resort there's also a "market" on site which has a pretty good selection of food (snacks, breakfast stuff), etc. & drinks. So overall I've rated it as a 5. I'm a MVC owner and have been to MVC properties all over the US mainland & Hawaii and this is one of the better of their properties.

"Great Resort for Couples and Families!!"

10.0

Me and my husband stayed at this property in September 2025. To say that it not only met my expectations, but exceeded them! We had a two-bedroom, 2 bathroom villa in the Virgin Gorda building, 5th floor, corner room. This villa was spacious, clean, and updated—including a full kitchen and washer/dryer. PLENTY of room! We also had 2 large balconies from each bedroom. Check-in was quick, and the staff were always friendly and cordial. When we would stop by at the front desk throughout the week, the staff was talking amongst themselves, but quickly stopped and put their focus on addressing us when they saw us, which I appreciated. The beach area is very nice, soft sand and plenty of lounge chairs with umbrellas at no additional cost (first come first served.) Entering the water at some areas can be tricky due to some rocks and broken sea shells, but if you take your time, it’s no issue. The pool area was very nice, and they had several activities for the adults and kids throughout the day such as trivia, bingo, T-shirt dying, root beer float making, karaoke, movie night, etc. There is only one restaurant on site (wish there was more), but the food we had there at lunch and dinner was good, no complaints. We purchased some food from their marketplace to make our breakfasts in the room. They do have a shuttle service which takes you to the Westin and the Bouy Haus resorts next door which leave at the top of every hour. I would recommend visiting those properties as well. We had dinner at Isla Blue at Bouy Haus and Luna Mar at the Westin. Both meals were very good, plus the views at sunset are amazing. There is an excursion desk next the Marriott’s pool, offering catamaran snorkeling excursions, sunset cruises, and night time kayaks. I booked our excursions on Viator, but I believe they are the same options (not sure on pricing comparisons). A taxi ran us about $40 each way to and from the airport (take cash.) We did not rent a car. We had excursions that toured the island, took us to other beaches on the island, and we did some snorkeling excursions. We did not miss not having a car. Overall, in my opinion, this property would be great for couples, families, multi-generational families, and groups. I would stay here again in the future and I would recommend this property to my clients.

"Don’t regret staying here, but would not stay here again"

7.0

The location is gorgeous, and the rooms were spacious and accommodating

The front desk staff is not very warm. They gave one of our guest trouble and made her feel like she was lying about staying there. One of our friends had items stolen out of her room. We are unsure if it was housekeeping or an outside service for babysitting. One thing that really bothered me was my husband went down to get me breakfast, which was the fruit platter and toast. When he came back up, there was an empty box that looked like it had had toast in it, but it was empty. He went back down to ask about it and they did make it right. But while he was gone, I was starting to enjoy the fruit when I noticed the grapes had mold on them. This makes me think that the kitchen is prepping things without caution and could really do damage to someone with allergies.

"Spacious Villa and Beautiful Views- Perfect for Families"

8.0

My family of five (husband and three children, ages 16, 12, and 6) visited St. Thomas from August 2–10, 2025, and stayed at Marriott’s Frenchman’s Cove in a two-bedroom villa in the Virgin Gorda building. The villa was spacious, clean, updated, and had more than enough room for all of us. We often cooked breakfast and lunch right in the villa — the kitchen was fully equipped with everything needed to prepare a meal. The pool area was another highlight — clean, inviting, and complete with a waterslide my kids enjoyed daily. There’s plenty of seating around the pool, and we never had trouble finding chairs. The beach is beautiful, with lots of chairs and umbrellas available. The sand is soft and clean, but a quick tip: enter the water on the far left side, as the right side can be a bit rocky. There’s one on-site restaurant with a casual menu of burgers, quesadillas, salads, wings, etc. We ate there three times for a late lunch/snack before dinner. The food was decent and convenient. The resort itself is hilly, so depending on where your villa is located, you may need to take two or three elevators to get there. It seemed tricky at first, but we got the hang of it quickly. For me, the only downsides were the limited dining options — I wish there were at least one or two more sit-down restaurants for dinner — and the long check-in process. Marriott emailed me multiple times before our arrival asking when we’d get there, and I consistently answered 2:00 p.m. While I understand check-in isn’t until 4:00 p.m., I had hoped the room might be ready since they asked. It wasn’t ready at 2:00, which was fine, but when we came back at 4:00, it still wasn’t ready. After waiting hot and tired from travel, we finally got into our room around 4:35 p.m. All in all, our stay was wonderful, and I would absolutely return to Marriott’s Frenchman’s Cove. The location, villa comfort, and beautiful pool/beach area made it a memorable family vacation.

"St. Thomas: Ritz Carlton Club vs. Marriott Vacation Club Frenchman’s Cove"

6.0

We split our time on St. Thomas — 3 nights at the Ritz Carlton Club and 3 nights at the Marriott Frenchman’s Cove. Booked both through MVCI. Here’s how they compare. Ritz Club - Cons: - They are unfortunately dealing with a seaweed problem. It washes up onshore and decomposes. They have a barrier and actively remove it, but it persists. We did smell it the first couple of days but less so the 3rd. There were not many people in the water. We are more pool than beach people so it didn’t impact our stay. - We liked the 2BR room layout. The rooms were a little dated, but they are about to close the whole resort for renovation. - We cancelled our reservation at Alloro on property because the reviews were very bad. (The food service is operated by a 3rd party, not the Ritz) Pros: - More horizontal property, meaning it was spread out and it seemed like every room was ocean view. Our room, while only on the 2nd floor, had a great view of the serenity pool and beach. - You can walk next door to the Ritz Carlton hotel for an additional pool and another poolside restaurant. - We rented a cabana at the hotel side and it was beautiful. With a sofa, TV, prosecco, fruit, cookies and meal and drink service. - Pools were not crowded at all. We could have easily secured lounge chairs in the afternoon (this is August). - Red Hook was about 10 minutes away with great places to eat. We recommend Hook’d for dinner and Moe’s for groceries. Marriott Frenchman’s Cove Cons - - Property is more vertical. It’s pretty and colorful in the pictures, but what it means in reality is… - We were in the upper building (St. John). Yes, our room was ocean view in that we could see the ocean in the distance. But we immediately overlooked the road between the buildings and the roof of the next building. We could not see the pool or the property’s beach. (Chairmans’ Club owner but we do not own here and stayed only 3 nights. Guessing we were lower priority to some others, which is fair). So tip is to definitely ask to be in one of the other 3 lower buildings. - Getting from our room to the pool required taking 3 elevators. So because of these things, we felt a bit removed from the pool & beach. It felt like more effort to pack up and go down to the pool. - There are other properties nearby where you can go to their restaurants or buy a pass to use the pool, but it’s not walkable via beach. The shuttle from the Marriott to the Westin is 1x per hour. The shuttle to the Buoy House is more frequent. - We found it more challenging to grab a bite here since there is really one easily accessible option. - So many bug bites. I didn’t feel them when they were happening (probably when I went to the beach as the sun was going down) but I sure have a lot of them. Bring and wear bug spray. - Pool is rather small and was crowded. - No cabana rentals PRO’s - Great room, nice layout, updated - Easy to get a cab, there is another Moe’s on this side of the island - Food & drinks onsite were good - Closer to the airport and the town where cruise ships dock, if that’s important to you - Guest service both here and at the Ritz is outstanding. The pros / cons here are really more about the property - They have night kayaking off the beach, which we plan to do tonight (wearing bug spray!) For us, we preferred the Ritz experience, but perhaps our eating of the Marriott would have been different / better if we’d had a lower room location.

"Great experience in St Thomas, at Frenchman's Cove"

10.0

We are a family of four (my husband and I and two adult children ages 22 and 19). We all loved our stay at the resort. The rooms were spacious and nicely equipped with the comforts of home. We found the staff to be nice and accommodating Admittedly we didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel, but we were comfortable while we were there. The gym was nice; had a peloton bike (which I loved). The cats and chickens weren't a problem for us - somewhat entertaining. On our last night we did the night kayak tour from the Westin which was memorable. The only negative review is related to food. First, there aren't any food options available after 10pm which posed a problem for us on the last night after the kayak tour. We attempted to eat dinner at 7 at the Westin but was told there was a 1 hour wait which would have put us too close to the starting time for the tour. We ended up eating sushi apps but would have preferred a more substantial meal since we were starving after the kayak tour. Next, we had breakfast and my kids had dinner at the on-site restaurant. I did not enjoy my seafood omelet as it was filled with imitation crab meat and not much else. Also, my daughter did not enjoy her yogurt/fruit plate. That said, our kids ate there the night before for dinner and really enjoyed their selections. So maybe it's hit or miss. Overall, we had a fabulous time and can't wait to go again.
