Karma Kandara

We had a great time on our first visit as Karma members. We joined last year, and this was our first holiday using points. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, had great food, met lovely people, and explored Ungasan and Uluatu activities. We found a nice local spa in the village and treated ourselves to a fabulous Karma spa experience.

Editing this review for the second time to accurately reflect on my one week stay. The property is gorgeous, and has stunning cliffside views. The infrastructure is in place for an excellent resort. Unfortunately this is let down by three factors: 1. Use of cheap amenities and products everywhere - nothing feels "luxury" at all. Far from it. Forget the more expensive items like fixtures and mattresses, even linens and bath products are really bottom of the barrel. 2. Old facilities all around. The resort is fairly old and needs a refresh. 3. Most importantly, the service. The GM and the EAM try hard, but the other members of the staff, while friendly, do not really get what is expected of a high end resort. And considering rooms here regularly go upwards of 1000 USD a night, I would expect far better. The staff makes it feel like they are doing you a favor when they call a buggy or perform any miscellaneous task. Is it because the staff to guest ratio is low? I don't know. Couple of incidents that really strike out - they started doing loud construction at around 11 pm in the night right outside our villa. If I were at a Six Senses or a Four Seasons, this would be blasphemous. Shockingly, the next morning, at around 6 am, someone started using very loud shears to cut some grass, jolting us awake. All this is just completely unacceptable. Three stars only for the beautiful views. This could have been truly special, but alas. Also, the breakfast offerings are horrendous.

Lovely staff, good food and great views It’s a big property so you need to call buggys most of the time, but, except for rush hours, they are very fast

A place where one may relax and enjoy the calmness of the area and with a very good spa. It is far from the madding crowd. Villa is very comfortable. Good , friendly and attentive service . But at breakfast time, it can be chaotic and attention needs to be given to request. Food served in all its restaurants is international and it is very good . However One suggestion is to offer innovative Balinese cuisine in its menu and also to cater for food intolerances and allergies as standard.

Just spent the most magical day at karma kandara, we booked a cabana for four people, amazing experience.. everything was perfect from reservation to leaving , private beach, cocktails, food the lift to the beach, everything 10/10, ....thank you to all the staff...you make it special 🫶😍

Karma Kandara is a lovely 5 star resort, very peaceful with a wonderful view over the Timor Sea. All staff were excellent & helpful. The view from our very spacious apartment was priceless. Only 15km from all the shops & restaurants of Nusa Dua.

We are at the Karma Kandara Mentari residences at the moment. And I thought we must take a minute to review this little piece of paradise nestled atop the hills with panoramic views of the ocean and mountains. It is a breathtakingly beautiful location and the best place to escape to for a retreat for the body, mind and soul. What makes this beautiful resort a must visit is the amazing staff. We cannot say enough about their patience and exceptional service. They treat customers with courtesy and kindness and go out of their way to serve everyone with a smile. It is a busy resort and they are constantly run off their feet but we have not heard a sigh or a word of complaint from any staff member. They go above and beyond. Monty from Guest relations went out of his way to recommend day trips and places to eat. And was a wealth of information who was happy to spend time discussing our activities and experiences, inspite of having so customers to see to. The beach club is beautiful and the staff there are once again Amazing!!! Erica went out of her way to ensure we were well looked after The infinity pool is immaculate and well maintained. The reception housekeeping and restaurant staff go out of their way to ensure you are having a good time There are buggies to get around the place and that in itself is a little adventure. We loved being ferried around by the smiling staff who are always eager to please and never rush you around even though they are super busy. The few things to consider before you visit Kandara are 1. The resort is very remote so not for great for people who love to wander around on their own during the day. You cannot do anything without a driver 2. Food is mostly Indian or Continental at the restaurant. We love to try local cuisine and tried the Gojek app but even the Gojek food drivers find the location remote and keep cancelling orders 3. Breakfast only consists of bread fruit yoghurt and basic cereals. Although you can order other items off the menu and pay for them. We found this very strange because we have never been to a 4+ or 5+ hotel where continental breakfast does not consist either eggs and bacon or local delicacies Inspite all this, we would definitely visit again because it is a lovely escape. We really think the staff are commendable and deserve credit for making Karma Kandara an exceptional resort

This was our first ever international trip. We wanted to make it more memorable by spending my child's 10th Birthday. It was really a surprise for my kid to celebrate his birthday there. My room was decorated with flowers and baloons for him. It was an unforgettable experience for him. We stayed in 1 BHK apartment and the amenities there were too good. Next day during the breakfast, we met Karma guest relationship person and chalked out my trip plan with her. We enjoyed swimming in the pool and lovely scenes from there. After the lunch we were taking rest at room when some unfortunate news came in. We had to cut down our trip because os sudden demise of my immediate family member. We informed Karma staff and reception. They understood the situation and immediately jumped into action. They arranged a car for me to reach airport and cleared my dues immediately. Although my trip was cut down to just a day stay, it would remain memorable because of the courteous staff and their co operative nature

Staff amazing 5 * customer service from bar staff, waiting staff, beach attendants, room Service. Very polite and friendly always smiling and always happy to Help. The food was 5* we ate in the hotel or at the beach most days of our holiday and food always very Pleasing. Only downside was the elevator to The beach was not in service therefore the steps to the beach from the restaurant was very steep even getting the shuttle bus required climbing many steps so definitely not suitable for people with mobility Issues. Our one bed villa was very comfortable. Golf buggies very good to get around resort.
