Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Chattanooga Downtown by IHG

We have been staying at Holiday Inn Express Chattanooga Downtown once a year in the Fall for 5 years. Parking has always been free. However, this time parking is a whopping $14 per day. We were unaware of the new parking fee. We felt a bit deceived by this hidden fee. The room needs to be updated . The shades on the windows are dirty and worn. The windows themselves are very dirty and in dire need of cleaning. The desk in the room was missing the desk lamp. We notified the front desk clerk that we would like a desk lamp but the clerk was unable to provide one The clerk told us that a request has been sent maintenance and we would have a desk lamp sent to us tomorrow morning. We are still staying in the room as I write this review and so far, no desk lamp has been brought to us. The hotel overall looks like it has had some improvements since our stay last year. The elevators have been cleaned up with the wall panels replaced and both elevators are working. The ice machine on our floor during our rent stay is not working. I did notice that there is a nsign that states that the ice machines on only two floors are working. We are on the 5th floor and have to go down to the 4th to get ice. They have two new coffe machines in the breakfast dining area that grind beans and brew coffee. So, fresh coffee is available 24 x 7 now. They have a very good breakfast with hot breakfast consisting of eggs, omelettes, turkey sausage, pork sausage and sausage gravy. They also have hot iced cinnamon rolls. They also have this very cool pancake machine that allows you to press a button and it automatically makes two pancakes. They have all the other usual breakfast items like cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt , bread, bagels. The breakfast is one of the best ones offered by hotels. I am uncertain if we will book our room at Holiday Inn Express Chattanooga Downtown next year. The additional cost of the parking fee might make us look for an alternate hotel.

They both went above and beyond to help accommodate me and my brother. My dad died this spring and my brother couldnt attend the funeral bc of his work. My brother also cant fly so we finally had pto and took the long holiday weekend to road trip to visit our mother. She has been by herself since may. After driving for two days to get to chattanooga and finding out I had booked a single king room instead of a double, I was so distraught and mad at myself. The front desk trainee was so calm and comforting while trying to find something that could work in the computer. Christina was willing to help me by running to dbl check if a double queen room had been cleaned. They both worked well together. Christina was patient when her coworker had questions about things as they checked me into a perfect room. Both of these team members deserve a raise or a special gift and recognition. It’s not often that people are patient, kind, and understanding these days. In my time of personal duress and grief, I was very appreciative of both the trainees & Christinas ability to go above and beyond. (Forgive me forgetting the other team members name) They could easily have done the minimum by checking me and my brother into a single king room. It was refreshing to be heard and helped with genuine hospitality. Im gonna reccomend yalls hotel to my friends and family. I will definitely be returning to stay myself. (Also ryan who works the desk at night did a great job helping me when the lot was overflowing with wedding guests Saturday nite)

Staff was professional and courteous. Room was comfortable. Location was convenient for places I wanted to visit. Price was decent for the area.

There were a few ants in the room. Room was next to busy highway, even late at night could hear traffic, a room facing the parking lot would have been a lot better.

The room was large, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was tasty and more than adequate, The staff at the hotel were helpful and knowledgeable about the city and the local area.

We booked the Hotel for RUACH. The Hotel was very clean and refreshing. The location was very quiet and the staff was exceptional. Very friendly and kind. We arrived earlier than intended and asked if we could check early. A room was not ready as expected so we waited without complaint. Christiana apologized for a room not being available early so she allowed us free parking. The breakfast was good as well. We will definitely be booking again.
