Holiday Inn Macon North by IHG

Fitness center and pool not open

I do not typically write reviews but I wanted to spare others the heartburn. Stopped as an overnight on the way home. I used the IHG app to book, originally at a different Holiday Inn. On our way to Macon that hotel called and cancelled our reservation as they had a pipe burst. I used the app to rebook this property. Nothing on the app stated they were undergoing renovations. The fitness area and pool are closed. The snack pantry is limited to a few bags of chips, refrigerators out of order. The restaurant/bar offerings nonexistent. Made it to the room. Bathroom shower appears to be moldy, toilet handle fell off on first use. Any other time we would have insisted on a different room but we were tired and it was late. I did check for bedbugs but at least that seemed to be passable. Most of the employees seemed pretty unhappy. Thankfully it was quiet, we got a decent nights sleep, and headed out first thing in the morning.

Elevator was having probelms during out stay. There was a wait rime of about 20 minutes to check in with only 1 receptionist. One of the rooms next to use was smoking weed and we could smell i through the vent. Also the railroad tracks are right behind the hotel and goes by late at night super loud.

I made my reservation and paid for that reservation through Expedia. Upon arrival at the hotel, I was told I couldn't check in because their "system was down", no alternatives given, no timeframe, not helpful, basically was told "I don't know what to tell you, it was like this when I arrived" by the front desk staff. I had to go to another hotel after waiting and now this hotel won't return my money.

We checked in stayed the night and was told the next morning that we were listed as a no show, they rerun my credit card and said the problem was fix. I spent the day at a business meeting and when i arrive back at the hotel for my second night stay we were locked out of our room and told that there was no record of our reservation. they ended up letting us stay and when i went to take a shower there was no hot water for at least 2-3 hours. It just seem like one problem after another. this is the short version.

It was very clean

My room Unit didn’t work and by the time i figured that out, it was too late to move rooms because my family was sleeping other than that my stay was ok

Everything was fine about property

When we checked in at the front desk the computer system was not working and it was a very long wait. Then when I arrived home checked my account and was charged twice. Booking. Com is making it very hard to be refunded.
