Holiday Inn Express & Suites Culpeper by IHG

Everyone was very nice and polite. Hotel and rooms were clean and well maintained.

The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Nice little gym with well maintained cardio equipment.

Been a long time since I’ve stayed in a Holiday Inn, and this stay reminded me why. They preach cleanliness…but don’t follow what they preach and the pictures here will prove it. As more proof I took a towel and attempted to wipe the mold and mildew to show it was pure surface mold proving the lack of cleaning! Another knock on housekeeping is they made the bed with sheet on inside out, more just pure lack of attention to detail. I also found long black hairs in the tub, sink and shower curtain. On top of that, almost everything in the breakfast was WAY over cooked. Eggs / little cheese omelets had dark brown on them and had to use a knife to cut the cheese omelets. Other chains use the same omelets and the ones here were not edible. The TV in the room also had this purple tint, resetting picture and all that didn’t help. The gym, if you could call it that was ok, machines worked tv on some of the machines didn’t work. The pool, was so cloudy and dirty you couldn’t see the bottom or even the lights in the pool, which as a pool owner means they do not know how to take care of it.

My stay was excellent. I was in town for a meeting with an group of food and officials and was due to stay one night. I was really exhausted and knew it was too much for me to drive back to Chesapeake VA. They easy handled my accommodations to stay on extra night.
