Alona Hotel

Good location and staff very friendly.

Dogs are allowed but only allowed on the couch. Having a few options would be better to sit with Ur dog. The buffet breakfast was very poor not a lot of choice.

Stayed before a few times and great location we thought as usually quiet next to park. …..but sadly not so good this time. The room window was broken and as there is no Aircon in this hotel it was stuffy and stale smelling even with a fan on all night. When the sun shone next morning on the wallpaper next to bed head it showed up loads of dust and cobwebs stuck to it. The mattress was very hard and well used so could do with a topper or upgrade.

Then as stated above room was not as clean as should have been and the 2 bed mattress in our twin room very uncomfortable. Not being able to open the window (as broken) in a warm stuffy room led to a bad sleep. Fan provided but as no Aircon in rooms it’s not enough. It certainly did not help that there was a very loud Prom concert on in a marquee in hotel grounds that night. Would have been nice to have been informed of this on booking in?? Could have chosen room on opposite side of hotel?

Easily accessible for motorway

Our ground floor room overlooked the wedding venue and the music went on til midnight.

Good location with easy access, by car, to central Glasgow.

The decor is a bit outdated.

Breakfast was really good, when we ate dinner at the hotel it was good. The bed and room were comfortable. It was nice having a safe in the room. The staff were excellent any thing we asked they were very helpful to get.

Would have been nice to have a fridge in the room. Instructions on how to use things, ie how to turn on the heated towel rack.
