Alona Hotel

Nice restaurant, good rooms - very happy overall.

All the staff were very friendly & helpful. They were particularly kind to our elderly relatives.The staff's local knowledge & the pleasant atmosphere that the whole team generated, helped us to enjoy our holiday all the more. The food was very tasty. The meals were enhanced by the amazingly spacious dining room with great views of the loch, This meant the tables were a good distance apart from each other & didn't feel crammed together. The hotel's location, meant day trips to Loch Lomond & the Clyde Valley were easily made. Upon returning, there was always plenty of car parking available.

No fruit available for breakfast on 2 days. Couldn't have hot chocolate on 2 evenings as no chocolate powder left. Ensuite door was damaged & cupboard door containing tea making equipment didn't close properly. Slight leak in the shower.

The room was a good size and breakfast was very good.

The evening meal menu wasn't great and food was served, not fully cooked for one of our party.

It was very clean and not too far from the venue and also had parking facilities.

Horrible experience. The restaurant is like a low end cafe. Damaged tables. Wobbly chairs. Dirty carpet with food debris. Dirty tables. Food was awful. Beef very tough in the steak and ale pie. Service very poor. We complained and they removed one drink from the bill but we still had to pay for mostly inedible food! Do not recommend this hotel at all. Does not feel like a 4 star hotel in the slightest! Never again!

Everything, staff lovely, great location, spacious room

We were in ground floor room by the taxi pick up which unsettled our dog but in future we will just request to be further away

I had evening meal and breakfast, evening meal had a good variety of choice and average prices, Great service and food was quicl kly delivered and hot, sraff were very attentive. Breakfast in the morning had a good selection (Buffet) and was all fresh when I went in, staff was friendly and advised how the buffet service worked etc. Only thing missing was no muesli, apart from that everything else was good with a selection of pastries as well

Thetype. TV in the room is pretty small, in this day and age no excuse for small tv's, Shower/shampoo was not clearly marked so assume it was a combined
