Classic roadside motel. No luxury but it worked

Front desk staff was friendly. Location was close enough to our destination event in Paso Robles. Bed linens seemed clean enough, and the towels were not as thin and tattered as some I've seen in cheap motels. The bed's mattress was VERY firm but at least it was consistently so and not sagging.

Hotel's own website prominently advertises daily breakfast available BUT THIS IS NOT TRUE. Rooms were not very clean. Security locks on room door not present/not working. Flooring appeared to be newer vinyl woodgrain flooring but was very dirty. Furnishings were all older and shabby.

It's been a while since I stayed someplace so bad I found it worth speaking up. I booked three days before our stay. I was traveling with friends who kept a different schedule so I wanted to be able to comfortably kill time in the morning. At check in, the person behind the desk never mentioned the breakfast listed on the website (on multiple pages on the website). I asked and he said, "oh we haven't done breakfast in a long time." I was annoyed and would have booked elsewhere had I known, but I was checked in so whatever. I got to my room and it smelled overwhelmingly of urine. The air worked well, and helped ventilate the smell, fortunately.. The chain lock on the door frame existed, but the lock on the door side was ripped out. There was an ice bin and no liner. The floors were new but notably sticky. The soap provided was a sliver that felt like pumice. The bed was at least consistently firm but was on a weird metal frame that is extremely painful when you kick it, and you will. Rooms come with a table and a chair, and some small drawers. I tried to open one and the front came off in my hand. The chair was so loudly rickety that I am certain the person below me was woken up when I sat down to work. Lest you think I had the sole rough room, the friends I was with similarly had no chain lock, and at breakfast one said me, "I hope you didn't make the mistake I did and walk around barefoot. I saw the bottom of my feet this morning and almost gagged." Pros: The gentleman at the desk was quite friendly. Rooms come with a microwave and mini-fridge. Table and chair make it comfortable if you need to get some work done. Temperature control works well. Cons: not clean, not supremely safe, amenities are either flat out lies on the website or really not nice in the room.

It was ok. The bed was nice and firm.

The place was old and run down. Our front door key hardly worked because the systems were failing. The place inside made me feel like I had to walk around with shoes instead of bare feet to not catch something.

The hotel is located in a convenient spot across from McDonalds and Chevron. It is close to the highway which makes it accessible to leave out of town quickly. The towels in our room were old and one was tattered. The room had a musty smell to it. The carpet looked worn out and dirty. It looks like not much maintenance is done to the rooms nor the property.

No breakfast option. Motel is old but it was quiet and served it's purpose for one night.

Somewhat over priced.

It was a typical Motel. Reasonably clean but everything in the rooms are old. Relatively quiet. Good location
