5 Seasons Guest House

The location is amazing within a quiet neighborhood. The university center is quite close and so are restaurants and bars. The interior style is charming. Breakfast was amazing and the staff lady who made it was very nice and supportive.

The check in wasn't that smooth as we were the only guests and no staff was around. We got a video sent via Whatsapp to check ourselves in after informing the owner that no staff was around. The rooms were nicely decorated but were not that clean (dust and other dirt). No hot water in the shower in one room, while the other room's shower head was broken.

这幢别墅的漂亮程度完全超过预想，主人一定是经过精心的设计和维护。从客厅到餐厅到房间都装修得非常精致，有很多世界各地的工艺品。我住的房间里还有中国古画。房间里有免费红酒以及大量的咖啡和茶，泡上一杯在阳台上喝太惬意了。早餐也很好。很遗憾这次时间紧只住了一晚，以后再来南非的话要多住几晚。

可能是休息日的原因，我们抵达时联系房东后自助入住的。如果提前通过booking联系沟通好自助入住详情就更好了。

I liked it, but I expected a slightly different space. I was staying on the top floor and will have to carry my bags up the stairs. The place is beautiful, but needs some improvements. It's located on a street with many beautiful houses and is a very quiet place. We walked about 2 km downtown, both day and night. It's a bit isolated, but otherwise very quiet. The staff was OK, offering hot food, fruit, bread, and coffee.

What made a difference for me was that the room still has carpet, the bathroom needs renovation, and the bedroom door, which has an external access, was unsafe. And the distance from the city center. Overall, it was OK.

I had asked for a late check-in at 22h00 but the gate and room keys were not in the safe (it’s human to forget something). No one was answering on the phone (that’s more concerning, there can always be emergencies). After a long wait I entered the house, which was fortunately accessible on foot, and found the keys in a storage room, so I could sleep on my bed… but it hasn’t been pleasant, I felt like a thief. The day after a little gesture of excuse would have been nice.
