Timberlake Motel

People make this motel a five star! The staff is overwhelmingly helpful and kind. The motel is clean and no frills which is great. Location is close to the university( about 6 miles). Parking plentiful and breakfast was provided. We will definitely be returning.

A traditional roadside motel. The location is less than 10 minutes from Liberty University offering an affordable alternative to higher priced properties. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and in good condition. The breakfast offered was ample and satisfying.

We were trying to find a place to stay for our son and families move in to the area. In the past we have had some really bad low cost hotel experiences so the owner just stated come and see. We did and were glad we did, clean, friendly, breakfast, simple room w/ necessities, location very good for what we needed, affordable, and the bottles of water were a personal touch. Thank you we will be back.

I recently spent 2 nights at the Timberlake Motel. The room was immaculately clean and appeared to have been recently updated or renovated. The beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was more than I expected and the staff at the desk was very personable and helpful. Bottled water was also given at check-in and it was QUIET. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely return when I’m in the area.

The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our group of MG club members (older British sports cars) stayed for two nights, and when we were leaving after the second day, the front desk clerk (who may have been the owner), even came out to offer us all clean cloths to wipe the dew off of our windshields. I have never seen such a nice act of at anyone at any hotel.

I stayed at this motel over the weekend with my wife and mother in law and was genuinely impressed. While it’s not a luxury hotel, it more than makes up for it with cleanliness, comfort, and outstanding service. The room was spotless, the property felt safe and well-maintained, and the included breakfast was a pleasant surprise—fresh, satisfying, and a great way to start the day. What really stood out was the manager’s hospitality. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was just right, and their helpful attitude made the stay even more enjoyable. If you're looking for a clean, safe, and welcoming place to stay without breaking the bank, this motel is a fantastic choice. I would absolutely stay here again if I’m in the area!

We traveled with a group of about 20 people, and the Timberlake Motel was chosen because it's close to Poplar Forest, a winery, a brewery, and Sailor's Creek Battlefield. It's basic, but a very good value. Staff was friendly and attentive; breakfast was included; rooms were clean; beds were clean and comfortable. Our group would stay here again if we visit the area in the future.

We booked this stay purely because it was one of the only options left that was convenient to a conference we were attending in Lynchburg, and it had decent reviews. We didn’t know what to expect, but what a delightful surprise this stay was! The attendant who checked us in was friendly and kind, they greeted us with bottled water that was labeled with our name, and at checkout they gave us another bottle of water with a label that read “safe travels!” It’s a little detail that made all the difference. Breakfast was great and the space felt clean and well maintained. And the room and bathroom was CLEAN. The room is nothing luxurious, but it is clearly well maintained and very clean, which is a huge deal for us. I can’t say the bed is the most comfortable, but I’ll deal with that if the rest of the stay is as nice as this was. Also appreciate that the attendants were cheerful and willing to joke and laugh a bit with us as we interacted. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely small motel. Clean and neat. Good breakfast. Staff had a great recommendation for dinner: Carmelas at The Loft.

Older motel that has has some updates and could use a few more. However, it was clean and breakfast was great! The owner and front desk personnel go above and beyond for your comfort. I do suggest that housekeeping be more vigilant in the upkeep of bedding.
