Cathedral Quarter Hotel - Derby

Lovely old building had parking

Lovely building in a great location; just a short stroll from the cathedral, city and river. Staff were all fantastic.

The key issue here is service. I couldn't get through on the phone because one person is running the hotel and not returning voicemails. Upon arrival no invoice was given making it difficult for expenses with hotels.com claiming I need to get the invoice from the hotel. A week later they have yet to respond. Talking to others the hotel used to be a gem and has been taken over for its name. It's now run down and in need of paint, repairs and things such as toilet seats and new net curtains. First time in Derby though and it does seem to be a good part in town so points for that. Breakfast was good and quality but slow, as it's the same guy delivering it and potentially cooking it. He's not there at check out so you have to throw your keys behind the desk. Bonus - dark black out curtains

No A/C and the windows wouldn’t open fully and the staff the bloke I spoke to was very rude.
