No directions to the room number, eaves of the hotel are really low, room smelt, bed was uncomfortable. Worst hotel I've ever stayed in.

The rooms were clean and presentable.

I had to swap rooms. First room, there was no hairdryer as stated in the room facilities. So I had to go and ask for one. Second room, later in the evening after buying a takeaway to take to my room and watch TV, I found that there was no remote control for the TV. So I had to go and ask about the TV. The staff member seemed to think it was amusing and said no there isn't one. I said this was unacceptable and they changed my room to one where the TV did work. Also, the first room was very cold. The second was okay. I don't know why they didn't give me that room in the first place. Also, I decided to have a glass of wine in the bar. The bar area is very nice, however, not so much the quality of the wine.

Close to where we wanted to go . Staff were polite . Old fashioned pub accommodation. Very basic but it was fine .

We only had one towel between 2 of us only realised in the morning so couldn’t do anything about it except share .

For the money, a great little hotel Clean, friendly and charming place

Starting with the door to the room. The lock was really difficult to use,needing brute force to open it. The terrible sloping floors. Your feet were higher than your head, and the single bed was at such an angle because of the floor that it felt like it was trying to tip you out! Our room was full of flies, buzzing around. I spent half an hour wacking them with a rolled up towel. The whole room was just tired. Even the toilet seat had been repaired / bodged with white silicone. The local drunks were very vocal well into the night. And someone in the hotel sounded like an elephant going up and down the stairs in the middle of the night. We only booked the room as a halfway stop homeward bound. To be honest, it was pretty depressing and wasn't worth the price paid. We didn't eat at the property, so cannot comment on the food.

It’s a traditional old coaching inn so has a nice bar as well as comfortable accommodation - perfect!
