"Not going back"

1.0

Nice quaint hotel on the high street

Rude staff. Guy just stared at me when checking in. No food despite signs everywhere saying they do dinner - no explanation or apology. Room last decorated in the 70s. Uncomfortable bed, terrible shower. Avoid!

"Traditional coaching inn with bags of character in excellent location."

9.0

We love an old coaching inn and enjoy staying in them in preference to a chain! Good location and safe parking. Warm welcome from the receptionist (thank you Islam!). Huge room with a large comfortable bed (room 4). Two huge windows overlooking the square and we were able to open them for fresh air! Good food and drink onsite, or stroll to other options. Motoring memorabilia and pictures were very interesting.

A few minor issues were quickly sorted. (More towels, hangers and a plug for the sink) Nothing to do with the hotel, but all the St George's flags flying in town were off-putting for us (been up for a year apparently)
