This is a 3 star resort, not 4 star. Rooms are old but clean, lacking drawer space. Pool and beach area seriously lacking loungers and shade umbrellas. Not nearly enough to accommodate the guests. You have to get up at dawn to put your towels on chairs in order to ensure you have one for the day. Not what I intended for a relaxing vacation. Several broken loungers on the the beach that need to be replaced. The food in the buffets is okay, nothing special. The house wine is horrible! Forces you to buy a bottle of wine starting at $20 USD. Did not try the ala cartes after reading previous reviews so cannot comment. Had to change to a different area of the resort due to dogs barking all night. They were happy to accommodate us and we actually got a much nicer room (even though we were already paying for a superior room). Fridges were only replenished with water, not beer or pop. Front desk service was excellent. Antonia in the buffet is very warm and welcoming. Also, Sylvester in the evening buffet gave great service.

Amazing week in paradise, service was incredible, staff were so friendly and remembered our names which felt special. Beach is beautiful for launching and swimming. Feels like a small community. We were happy to be here at a time with many other Canadians!

Great place to stay! Rooms were what we needed - clean and cozy. Beach location was perfect and oh so gorgeous. Food was good - lots of new items to try! And lots of drinks to endulge in. The staff were WONDERFUL! So helpful, accomodating and FUN!

BlueBay Villas Doradas was a short 20-minute drive from the airport. It is located on the beach and across the street from the Playa Dorada Golf Course. It was only a short walk (3 minutes or less) to the clubhouse. I would highly recommend this course. Ask for Edwin as your caddy. We had an incredible time at this resort. The rooms were a little dated, and overall the resort was in need of some tlc. Even though it was dated, the rooms were clean, and the air conditioning worked great. The first night, we noticed the window in the bathroom wouldn't lock, and we were on the ground floor. We notified the front desk, and by the time we came back from supper, it was fixed. The food at the buffet was great, and we also enjoyed the à la carte restaurants. Jade Garden was our favourite. The beach was incredible, and there was no sargassum present throughout our trip. Some days it was challenging to find a lounge at the beach. I realize that this is an issue at most resorts, but several lounges were old and damaged, which contributed to this. This is an area the resort could improve upon. The staff was great and ready to help make our stay enjoyable. The resort was for adults only and it provided for a quiet and relaxing stay.

As loyal BlueBay VIP members for the past 8 years, we are profoundly dissatisfied with how our case is being handled. ​We have received dismissive responses from the BlueBay Villas Doradas service department, the Ms. Natty Marte. The Ms Natty Marte repeatedly stated that "the matter is closed," while ignoring our requests to escalate this issue to your office. ​The core issue involves a booking cancelled by mistake on Expedia on February 8, 2026. Expedia has officially confirmed that the prepayment is already in the hotel's possession and that only the hotel has the authority to resolve this. We are seeking a resolution that is fair and beneficial for both parties; however, we find the dismissive treatment and unprofessional tone of the staff to be unacceptable. ​We have requested to speak with you or the Director of Customer Relations, but Ms. Natty Marte has consistently blocked any further communication.
