A hotel that had struggled for a while is back at it's full form. Crisp, excellent, W experience, and no small part of that is Tomas and Rubi. Service was great and timely, Fantastic (now Urban?) suite was really an awesome room, and the breakfast service for elite members was quite pampered being delivered to my room.

I rarely write negative reviews, but my experience at this property was unacceptable. During my recent stay, I discovered bed bugs in my room late at night. As a frequent traveler and Platinum Elite member, I've stayed at many Marriott hotels, and this was the first time I encountered such a serious issue. I immediately notified the front desk. The clerk offered to move me to another room at 1:00 AM or suggested I find a new hotel. They were professional and assured me I would hear from management in the morning. The next morning, I requested to speak with a manager, but none were available at 8:00 AM. I also informed the front desk clerk that I expected a full refund. Instead, I received an email from the Senior Operations Room Manager, who initially offered me 20,000 bonus points for the inconvenience without refunding my one-night stay. When I replied that I expected a full refund, the Senior Operations Room Manager then said she would issue a refund for the one-night stay instead of providing the points, which I found to be petty. She acknowledged that she was not aware I had discussed compensation with her team, which should be standard policy. This experience indicates that the property lacks proper training in handling such situations. Additionally, I expected a call from a more senior member of the management team. Unfortunately, this experience has seriously damaged my confidence in this hotel and its management. **Recommendation:** Until management demonstrates that they take guest safety and cleanliness seriously, I strongly suggest staying elsewhere—especially for loyal members who expect a higher level of customer service.​

room had a beautiful view - also liked that they offered Nespresso machine with coffee pods and half and half. Was disappointed that they did not offer tea (my partner is a tea drinker). bed was comfortable and linens nice. Lovely rooftop bar overlooking the city and a little museum describing the history of the Foshay Building

Tea in room or in downstairs lobby - They had a large pot of hot water but NO tea, when we asked the morning staff did not offer an explanation.

I stayed at the W for three days as I was going to the Paul McCartney concert at the US Bank Stadium and was looking for an upscale hotel in the central downtown area. I have stayed at W hotels before so I had higher expectations based on my previous experiences. The location was excellent, it was an easy walk, less than a mile, to the stadium. Walking back with the crowds also made it easy and felt safe, even at 11pm. The hotel itself was a bit disappointing. I was happy with the price I paid, it was one of the few times where I felt comfortable pre-paying for a non-refundable room since my dates were locked in. Prices almost doubled in the weeks before the concert as the Eagles were also playing the Vikings that weekend. If I had paid a higher price I definitely would have been disappointed. I knew the hotel was historical so I expected the smaller rooms and bathrooms. The bathroom was nicely appointed with good lighting and strong water pressure. One ripped robe was provided in the closet, after day 2 it was removed from the room and not replaced. Servicing of the room was overall not up to par. The beds were made each day but used glasses were not removed and any towels/washcloths used were not replaced by fresh ones. There was a toothpick left on the floor after the room was serviced the second day and on day three, it was still on the floor. Garbage was also not taken out of the room on the second day of servicing. The room got cool but not cold and the beds were incredibly uncomfortable. I had to go to the chiropractor the day I got back home as it was so hard. I prefer a firm mattress but do not want to sleep on a concrete slab. Four pillows were on each of the double beds and some combination of all four were needed to try and get a bit of sleep. My room did not have a remote control for the tv and when I called to the front desk they said it would be right up. I had to call again the next morning as no one came with a new remote. There is a mini fridge in the room with expectedly high prices ($7.95 for a bottle of water, for example). There was no room to put your own items in to cool but I just got ice to put my own waters in. I went to both the Prohibition Bar on the 27th floor and Manny's on the lobby level. Prohibition was small but the bartender was very friendly. There's not much of a view from the bar itself and the small seating areas around the windows were full so I could not take a look. Manny's definitely has an old-school steakhouse vibe. The bartenders again were very friendly and knowledgeable. You can get a full meal there and it had a few tv's to catch college football or other sporting events. There's also a bar/lounge called the Living Room on the lobby level outside of Manny's that seemed busy (and was lively and loud Friday night) but I did not spend anytime there. Overall I wasn't thrilled with my stay. The staff that I interacted with were friendly but this did not feel like the quality hotel I would expect under the W brand. I probably will not be back to Minneapolis but if I ever come back, I will not stay at the W.

Location, size of room

Downtown location is ok, but there isn't much around the hotel in terms of coffee shops or restaurants. There is a bar and a restaurant (steak house) where we had "expensive" drinks, attached to the hotel though as well as a "speakeasy which was packed! The room and bed were very comfortable.

We arrived before the 4pm check-in and even though we were told there were rooms available and ready we were not able to drop off our bags in the room. We were offered a 40$ early check-in, which is ridiculous when there is availability! The front desk staff person was not friendly about it. This policy is making mw not want to stay at Ws.
