Johnston Canyon Lodge & Bungalows

I liked the idea of being in a cabin & I love that it was next to the best hiking trails with all those spectacular waterfalls!

Patio w/ 2 chairs and a table but patio floor looks like it needs to be scrubbed w/ a wet mop- at least, that’s what my husband would like to do to make it look cleaner and more welcoming! As you walk in the cabin, there’s an unpleasant smell - like you need a natural room freshener or need to air the whole room out but I can’t leave the door open because there’s no screen door. More so when I went to the bathroom- it smelled like someone just used the toilet and the smell lingered; I had to open the window! The place is large enough but there is no closet to hang your clothes; not even hooks; very inconvenient especially if staying there more than 2 days. Cute cabin but there’s room for more improvement for the convenience of future guests.

When we had an issue with our room, the staff was very quick in making it right. Very clean, spacious, and private. A real fireplace and an electric "wood burning stove" were nice touches to make it homey, while also providing a fan in case we got hot. Claw foot tub and a shower in a huge bathroom were super nice as well! The restaurant and coffee shop were both great, and it was super convenient for hiking to the Upper and Lower Falls. We love this place!

Some stuff (eg kitchen appliances) are new, the interior of the cabins is rather old. Service at the restaurant was very slow.

Cottage was well set up for 2 couples each have their own room. And would be great also for a family. We ate at the bistro I had the canyon burger and the others had the fish and chips . Food was really good and our waiter Rueben was really good. I love being able to hike to the falls before or after the tourist are all gone . This was our 4 th stay in a 3 year period . The views are impressive.

Me gusto mucho la ubicación y la cabaña en sí misma. Muy cómoda y muy hogareña. Los anfitriones majisimos nos añadieron microondas cuando le pedimos que nos hicieran unas palomitas. Llegamos más tarde de la hora límite para hacer el check in y nos dejaron las llaves y nos permitieron hacer el check in la mañana siguiente. un encanto

This place is an absolute gem! Unplug from technology and enjoy the gorgeous mountain surroundings. The hike up to the falls is not to be missed. The cabin was rustic but full of simple upgrades to make you comfortable. The bistro and coffee shop were excellent. You will love your time there 😊
