Victoria Falls Rainbow Hotel

Beautiful clean hotel. The service was exceptional and accommodating. The rooms were clean and comfortable. They turned down our nets and bed in the evening and made them up every morning. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and well filling. The pool and bar were also very clean and friendly. Thank you for a great stay!

Location is really the only thing they have going for them

Everything, if I could give a 0 I would, firstly the passage enroute to our room had a leaking ceiling - and there was a bucket and mop just left there that we had to manoeuver around to get to our room. The room itself was ok at first glance. But it 2 double beds put together, which was not the option we booked for, and then in the bathroom there was a square toilet seat forced onto an oval rim, so not aligned at all, and then there was no shower curtain, and the shower itself didn’t actually work. We complained, but the only thing that was changed was the bed. We complained again the following morning and we were eventually promised a new room - and at least this promise was fulfilled and we were moved to another room which was smaller but at least had a proper toilet and working shower - just no mosquito net but we decided it wasn’t worth the fight. Breakfast is a chaotic affair. It’s busy, and the staff are fed up with each other and they really don’t care. We waited to be attended to - then we were told that our breakfast was a set menu not a buffet. But the woman attending to us told us to follow her to the buffet stand where she and the chef proceeded to have an argument in vernacular in front of us. It was absolute madness - eventually one of the chefs came and attended to us and tried to deescalate the situation. We found a table, no one bothered to clean it, flies everywhere, and we eventually got our food which was very substandard. I requested my sunny side up eggs to be flipped - when my plate returned it looked like a 5 year old had flipped those eggs. We ordered room service the next morning just to avoid dealing with more restaurant drama. And you have to pay a surcharge for it - it’s not complementary. The food was cold. We had to ask for it to be heated again. Then there were no condiments etc. Guys, I could never in good conscience recommend this hotel to anyone. The 3 star status is extremely generous.

Great location, We had to pay upfront (alarm bells) generally clean the balconay door was jammed with a 1 inch gap. couldnt open or close, staff never turned up to correct even after several requests. the room mirror and the bathroom mirror both broken. worst breakfast ever. 3 requests for toast and they took my food away when i wasnt finished. At best this is a 2 star hotel. shower curtain didnt close. Bathroom door mechanism missing so couldnt close
