"Great hotel with very nice staff"

10.0

Very nice hotel approx. 30 minutes north of the "Ghost City Ordos" and approx. 1 hour south of the Kubaqi Desert. The hotel has international standard and one of the nicest and kindest staff I ever met on my trips. Some speak English very well and the service is outstanding. They helped us to organize a taxi for the two weekend days in order to travel to the "new city of ordos" and the Kubaqi desert. These two locations are very unique if you are looking for something different.

"Empty but comfortable."

6.0

We stayed at the Crowne Plaza for 3 nights in april. The hotel is very well equipped for large conferences or events but is very quiet and empty at other times. It was a bit spooky. We were 2 of only a handful of guests staying at the time. The rooms were very comfortable but a very long and lonely walk from the entrance to the hotel. It seemed that entire sections of the huge hotel were unused-(lights off and no heating), the pool was also empty (which was very disappointing! I could see it from my window) and the "spa" was also closed. It seems that the Crowne Plaza (much like many parts of Ordos) was built for a population of people that never showed up. The breakfast buffet was good, however the restaurant menu in the evenings was very limited. On the second night i had to ask the front desk if the restaurant was actually open because all the lights were off. Once we were assured it was open we shown to a table and the lights were turned on over our table only- the rest of the restaurant was left in the dark. Also the waitresses didn't know what beer was so i had to ask her to open the fridge so i could point one out. The front desk staff were usually extremely friendly and the morning manager was wonderful. Also a mention to the concierge who was always friendly, smiling and very welcoming. Although the stay was fine for the 3 nights, the next time i'll stay somewhere with more atmosphere and signs of life and less of a David Lynch vibe.

"Great Hotel, Excellent Staff !!"

10.0

This is a good Hotel in Ordos. Staff speaks good English and the restaurants offer diverse Asian cuisines. Each staff member goes the extra mile to cater to your requests and make you stay a very pleasant one. During our stay, Ms. Dolly Hou, took care of every single detail to organise our day tour at Ordos. Ms. Hou's hospitality is highly commendable. Her courtesy made our stay a the hotel a lifetime memory for our family !! Would recommend this Hotel to each and every one visiting Ordos. Mohan India

"ひろい部屋と豪華な調度品のホテル"

6.0

大きなバスタブで全身を伸ばして湯に浸かることができ、とてもリラックスした。 朝食も美味しかった。 宿泊客が少なかったせいか、活気を感じなかった。

"i would expect more for a hotel carrying the Crowne trademark"

6.0

you are in Ordos, a city with no longer a growing economy, and the hotel is already feeling the cost of the years. it is easy to see the hotel was build for a higher usage rate than nowadays, the bars and lounges that were probably busy years ago, now are not working anymore. the rooms are ok, but vey tiny to accommodate an extra bed. overall is a good hotel, but i would expect more for a hotel carrying the Crowne trademark, nevertheless probably is still the best option in town

"Order in Ordos"

10.0

The Ordos Crowne Plaza was an opportune occasion for a bit of order in Ordos. Indeed, a paltry price procured a prize positioned prospect well placed; a recommendation worth the reckoning.

"Pretty Good, Plus Paraben-Free Shampoo!"

8.0

I was very impressed with the room. It was clean, roomy, and had nice touches that I, unfortunately, did not have time to use; like the biggest flat screen I've ever seen in a hotel. There's a business desk. There are sofa chairs and a recliner. The bed was very comfortable. I slept well. The bathroom, which is stocked with high-end toiletries, and paraben-free soaps, is set apart from the sleeping area. I appreciated that. It made the room feel a bit like an apartment. Very comfortable bath robes and cushy slippers. I had breakfast here. It was so-so. There was no bacon, unfortunately, among other non-Chinese things I like to eat for breakfast.

"OK for Ordos, but....."

6.0

The positives for this place are that it is well located and you can walk to the main street etc, it is clean and reasonably well appointed. The biggest negative was that the rooms were heated like ovens. I and others had to get the hotel to unlock the balcony doors to let in some subzero air. I ended up sleeping with the door open despite it getting down to minus 5C overnight. No wifi in the rooms but available in the lobby area. Breakfast was basic. Apparently a Mongolian cappuccino consists of frothy milk with no coffee!

"Miss World 2012"

10.0

It was the Miss World contest that took us to Ordos, the Hotel Crown Plaza is were the contestants were staying. The hotel is grand! The bigest barrier was that unless you spoke The language, it was very difficult to make yourself understood. So take a crash course or a phrase book. Rooms are spacious and facilities are excellent. The staff really try but speak very limited English. The simplest of things take a long time. On arrival at the airport unless you have the name of your hotel written in Chinese you will not be understood........

"Great Hotel pity about the staff"

4.0

The hotel is great and has great facilities. However, most of the staff don't speak any English at all, and the level of English of those that do speak it is extremely limited. When I tried to check in I was told that Expedia had not paid for the hotel and wanted to charge me again. To try and sort this out took over two hours to sort out. Never the less on checking out they told me I had to pay for one nights stay. This was eventually sorted out again. You cannot even order food or drinks verbally everything has to be through sign language. There is nothing for a Westerner in this area of China unless you are travelling on business/Conference . Would not return to the area unless I had to.
