Hotel Hacienda La Puerta de Enmedio

Place was in terrible shape, stay away! Bad location, dirty, musty and disorganised very bad condition and looked almost deserted

There are several bottom line things I require from any hotel: a secure room, easily available hot water, a comfortable bed, and an operational TV. All the rest is icing on the cake. At La Puerta de Enmedio, it was all icing and very little cake. The furnishings were attractive and the grounds delightful. However, when we tried the key in the lock of the first room they showed us, the key immediately broke off in the lock. In the room we finally accepted, the sliding bolt inside lock was non-functional. One could grow a long beard waiting for the hot water to come on, although--in fairness--it did eventually, at a very low rate of pressure. The TV, which was connected to the Sky system, refused to function. Even after the hotel finally got the Sky people there to "fix" it, the TV soon broke down again. The staff, with the exception of their groundskeeper, was almost completely absent and it took great effort to find them even just to check in. Nobody seemed to be in charge.

The rooms we got were actually very spacious and nicely decorated, but we could barely sleep because of the peacocks screaming all night long, and the roosters having a voice competition. It is unfortunate that this hotel doubles as a poultry farm: all these animals roaming the grounds freely are very pretty, but make sleeping impossible! If you find yourself in Mascota, try sleeping at Hotel Elena, or other hotels.

Es un lugar bonito, con jardines bien cuidados y animales como faisanes, conejos, guajolotes y gallos. La atención de la pareja que cuida el hotel fue excelente, pero ellos son el único personal. No hay servicio de restaurante. No pudieron confirmar nuestra reservación sino hasta nuestro tercer día de estancia, porque no tenían internet. El teléfono que tiene Hoteles.com para confirmar directamente con ellos, no corresponde al hotel, sino de otro por el rumbo de Barra de Navidad, en el que no tenían ninguna información de este que está en una ranchería del mismo nombre en las afueras de mascota. Una de las ubicaciones que muestran en su publicidad, los ubica en la presa Corrinchis, esto no es correcto. Su lago natural, es un estanque de 12 x 12 mts. La habitación que muestran en la foto de su publicidad, es su única habitación de este tipo y no estaba disponible por que no tenía agua en los baños y las habitaciones que nos dieron son

We very much enjoyed our short stay on the second floor - beautiful mountain view, nice food ordered from town, slow pace. A very relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Aconomical, Mexican style hotel, on outskirts of Mascota, with lovely gardens and many interesting birds etc., including peacocks. Large room with kitchenette and tiny balcony. Not luxurious but , for standard Mexican hotels, adequate and quite comfortable

This hotel was a last minute stay over on the way to Puerto Vallarta over new years eve. It's located in "La Puerto de Enmedio", which after 30 minutes of driving around in Mascota, we discovered is a separate little town about 3 minutes down the round. The rooms are big and spacious and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The front desk did not speak English, but even with our little Spanish it was not really a problem. It's located outside of Mascota (about 3 minutes) and has an old spanish "villa" feel to it, complete with a big fenced in grass area (great for kids!), duck pond and even a fully functional church. It is located on the main rd, so it can get a little noisy at night and the hotel does not serve meals (or at least didn't during our stay) so you'll have to find a little restaurant in Mascota. The building is old but has a remarkable charm to it and has various balconies and outside seating available. Truly and amazing experience of rustic, friendly, small town Mexico.
