Nice older motel

Overall the hotel was good for what we used it for and that was so we didn't have to stay 3 days at a campsite at Rocklahoma. No real complaints about the hotel. Only thing I will tell you, is that it sits on the far side of Claremore where there is NOTHING without having to cross town, especially if youre looking for something to eat or drink, especially late at night. Whataburger and Quik Trip are a good 7-10 minute drive down Route 66. That, and the train comes right by the property probably about every 8 minutes during the night. If youre a light sleeper like I am, youre going to hear it.

Under no circumstances should anybody stay here. If it was possible to give a rating of 0, that is what this place would get. This is about to be the worst review I have ever written. We were driving Route 66 for a road trip and decided to stay the night here. We got two rooms, 105 and 109. Room 109 reeked of cigarette smoke, despite being "non-smoking." The floor and walls were dirty, there was a weird brown stain on the mirror, and scratch marks on the bathroom door. There were also several creepy men staying in the room next door who were peering at us. Room 105, though, was where it really got ugly. It was as dirty as 109, and it had stained sheets and towels, in addition. My mother and I went into the room and began to unpack. We noticed a strange brown object on the carpet near the door and looked more closely at it. It was a cockroach. It moved. We screamed. We immediately packed all of our things, alerted the other member of our party, and left the room. Where there is one cockroach, there are usually more, and there was no way in hell we were sleeping there. We went and told the man at the front desk about this. He had been eating his dinner and appeared annoyed to see us. When we told him about the cockroach, he seemed unsurprised and did not apologize. When we asked him about a refund, as we had booked the rooms online, he attempted to lie to us and said that he had not charged us yet, so no refund was necessary. We had paid online with a credit card. When we had arrived at the hotel earlier, he had told us, "Your rooms are already paid for." We wound up calling Hotels.com in order to get our refund. It is also worth adding- we took the man from the front desk to see the cockroach in the room. Upon seeing it, he began to attempt to sweep it out of the room and said, "Oh, it just came in through the door." No. No. No We promptly left and went to another hotel. Do not stay here. This is one of the most disgusting hotel experiences I have ever had. Stay at another hotel. Sleep in your car. Sleep in a tree. Drive far, far away. ANYWHERE is better than this place. It was recommended to us in our Route 66 guidebook and we plan on contacting the author to tell him to remove the recommendation from future editions. I hate to imagine somebody else going through our horrible experience. It is very obviously safe to say that we will never, ever, ever come back to this place. To start off the room was not ready when we got at 5:30 they said 15 or 20 minutes it was an hour and a half. .Overall the room was very dirty, carpets were not even vacuum, The tub was gross and the phone did not work. I could go on and on. Not a very pleasant stay.

Just stopped during a cross country trip. Place was good and the town was quaint. Went to the casino then back for a night's sleep. Place was fairly clean but I chose not to shower because the bathroom could have been cleaner.

Looked at their website, photos and read some reviews, didn't sound horrible. It's often hard to find places that will accept a cat and a dog and have smoking rooms, and we've generally had good luck with small little mom and pop places, not so with this place. After a long twelve hour drive arrived to find a filthy, falling apart room, reeking of cat urine. Nothing even close to resembling the photos, knobs on the tub were nearly falling off, stained washcloths, no hand towels, and totally filthy.
