Mbuyuni Beach Village - Bungalows

It was a very pleasant stay, the staff was very kind and helpful. The food was delicious and overall great value for your money. This is the best place In Zanzibar. Friendly staff, accommodation was perfect and clean, the food was delicious. The place perfect.

The room and patio with lounger are great sized and comfortable, the staff was great, the beef lasagna and lobster were yummy, nice view

It's dated but the pricing doesn't reflect this (shoulder season - $53 for room with AC versus moved a little closer to Jambiani and paid $30 for a newer room beachfront with AC), at high tide you're trapped as there's no beach access for 3-4 hours unlike most hotels in the area, the lock on my room was barely attached so it could easily be opened without the key (see pic), there was no for knob on the bathroom when I first arrived so the AC wouldn't stay in the room (they fixed it when I asked), power went out each night for 1-2 hours so no fan or AC (doesn't happen at other places in the area), wifi only works in the restaurant and it's super slow (sim card works 10x better)

No Wi-Fi in the rooms, only at the restaurant. We didn’t have a local SIM so Wi-Fi would have been helpful to plan for trips etc.

Dis recommendation! Mbuyuni Beach Village The place itself is beautiful on the beach in Jambiani. We eat kosher and it is not possible to buy gas in Zanzibar. In all the places they were flexible and let us cook pasta or rice on the gas, but there they decided not to, even though we explained several times that it was our food, the answer was stiff and cold. In addition, it says that there is hot water in the shower and we also asked before entering the rooms. In the end there was no hot water, we asked what could be done about it and received the answer "it always worked and now there is nothing we can do". When we said it was wrong and they obliged. Another person arrived who shouted at us non-stop that it was not our place and at 10:00 PM wanted to drive us to another place to stay, it was a very humiliating experience. not recommended

For a 1,91m person like myself the bed was a bit short, but since my girlfriend is tiny we could sleep diagonally and I had no trouble sleeping.

Great location right on the beach, halfway between Page and Jambiani. Nice pool and the food is delicious! The staff is super, well informed and helpful!

The spot is a dream, right between jambiani and Paje with both reachable over the beach. The beach in front of the village is not as crowded so one gets the best of both worlds.

- Friendly and very helpful staff who speak good English - Beautiful location right on a really nice and uncrowded beach (no comparison to Paje where you are bothered to buy stuff every few minutes) - Plenty of comfy sun loungers, even directly on the beach - Rooms are spacious, there are mosquito nets on the beds and there is a shower with hot water and really good water pressure! You can book with or without AC - Outstanding value for money

- Swimming in the sea is not super easy because there are a few rocks in the sea. However, you can still swim on some tides or easily walk to a strip without rocks within 5 minutes - Don’t expect European hotel standards. Everything is well-maintained but still it’s not a 4-star hotel - The water in the pool seems clean but the pool walls are a little worn so that the pool water does look dirty on first sight
