I stayed at Park Hotel Napoleone for 4 nights/5 days and to say that I couldn't wait to leave was an under-statement. I cannot express my huge disappointment and disgust of this so called 4-star property. Where should I start... firstly, what is stipulated on their website is the furthest from the truth. This property is opened 3 months of the year, the summer months which doesn't give much time for the hotel to be ready (cleaned/refurbished/general hotel maintenance.etc) to greet guests who have chosen to spend their summer vacation in this property. The staff are unfriendly and unhelpful and treat you that you are a nuisance. The hotel room was not clean, documentation of the previous guests was left in the room alongside a pair of socks (clearly shows the room was not cleaned prior to our arrival). The shower was dirty with hair remains. Staying there for 5 days, the pool was cleaned only once which was on our last day. The website mentions internet available but once you arrive, free internet is only in the reception and near the pool but with the terrible internet reception, the free internet was null and void. They offer no facilities and given one day it rained with thunderstorms, they didn't have umbrellas to provide the guests to even visit the city centre but reception did suggest to visit a nearby beach as "it is still nice to see when it rains". One day, I was stuck in the tiny lift and thankfully a fellow guest assisted otherwise the only other person available was the housekeeper who was not useful at all. This so called 4-star property needs to be downgraded, it was disgusting and speaking with other guests they felt the same. There was no professionalism or customer service demonstrated and noticed there was only one person who was well looked after, that we discovered later was the owner of the hotel. My biggest regret was not reading the reviews before deciding to staying at this property. I strongly recommend to fellow travellers visiting Isola d'Elba please avoid this property.

The hotel is beautiful but very old furniture,the staff is very unfriendly and you feel like you are disturbing😠. This is the first hotel where I feel very uncomfortable and I feel like I didn’t pay🤷🏼‍♀️ , like they make me a favor! Very unpleasant feeling! The made also very unfriendly, she didn’t refeel the minibar We stay for 4 nights. No bar open. You cannot drink anything after 9 o’clock in the hotel !!! Disappointed!!!!

First impressions were of a really nice hotel with an attractive lounge area,although there was nowhere to stop and drop off the cases . The car park was 50 yards away up a hill. The bedroom was a bit of a let-down. We had to contact reception about several lights not working (some of the sockets were a bit dodgy) and we had problems with water flowing out of the bidet from the base. The bed was uncomfortable and the room was in need of refurbishment. The pool area was very clean and the breakfast was satisfactory. The hotel was well positioned for the ferry, restaurants and Napoleon's Villa

Although it was a rather tiresome journey to get to and from the hotel; plane, bus, train, boat and taxi, it was a very happy holiday when we arrived. The scenery was beautiful and it was next door to Napoleon's summer residence. The beach was lovely with nice loungers, and umbrella and basic shower and toilet facilities. There was however only the choice of going for the whole day or not going at all if you didn't have a car. Portoferraio was a bus ride away and we spent several happy days exploring it but again without a car it would have been difficult to visit the rest of the island. The last bus back to the hotel was about 7.40pm so not late enough to eat in the town in the evening. The food in the hotel, though quite expensive, was absolutely delicious and we ate there on several occasions. The breakfast was ample and pleasant but mostly cereal, tinned fruit, cake and toast and jam. Don't expect a cooked breakfast. There was a very pleasant pool with pool side loungers and umbrellas, again set in beautiful surroundings. A very delightful holiday, pleasant hotel and friendly, helpful staff.

Great Hotel, helpful staff. A bit far from the town centre but fine if you have a car

We stayed 4 nights here in June 09. Overall we were disappointed with the hotel and dont think it deserved its four star rating. We had two rooms (as the first night the standard of room that we had booked was not available). Both bathrooms were poor: the first one stank and had shower curtain missing, the second one had a faulty showerhead that sprayed water everywhere but in the shower cubicle. When we mentioned all these things the staff never apologised but just gave excuses to avoid responsibility. In addition the breakfast was not very good quality - in a 4 star hotel in italy I dont expect coffee from a machine! However, the staff on reception were very good - both friendly and helpful. (eg they allowed us to use their internet and printer in their office as their wireless facility was broken). Also, be warned, the private beach is only available at a charge of 20Euro per day. I would not stay here again, merely because I think it is overpriced for what it offers. However, the island is so incredibly beautiful we still had a wonderful time!
