Protea Hotel by Marriott Dorpshuis & Spa Stellenbosch

Very friendly and helpful staff. Bedrooms were very basic but comfortable

I was put in a room that was facing the back corridor which was used by staff to go to the laundry. It was very noisy and no attempt to keep the noise down? Has to keep my curtains drawn the whole time. Also, was this really the only room available? I had booked. At a time there was plenty availability. The hotel is very outdated so sadly was quite empty with not much going on.

Old furniture, layout of my room was not comforting. The breakfast options were very limited, it took me three minutes standing and pouring juice in a glass because it was coming out the tap soooooo slow. I hoped for more from this Protea hotel in comparison to other Protea hotels

Had a pleasant stay. Like the 'olde time' feel of the rooms and the hotel. Staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. Will definitely there again when visiting Stellenbosch.

Someone forgot to clean out the dustbin in room and toilet.

I would not pay for this accommodation. Toilet seat broken - unhygienic and should be replaced immediately No shampoo Electrical point - cover hanging loose - unsafe No shower - hand-held shower but no where to attach to the wall This is a disgrace to the Protea name
