위치 : 기온거리, 중심상업지구에 10분거리의 좋은위치 서비스 : 최고윽 서비스 시설 : 오래된 료간으로 공중화장실 등. 일반호텔의 편리함과는 거리가 있음. 다만 전통료칸을 경험하고자 하는 분에게는 좋은 경험이 됨 음식 : 조식,디너 훌륭함

My friends, my husband and I really enjoyed the one night we stayed at Motonago. The area is perfect to walk around and it’s beautiful day or night! The room was very comfortable and we regret not having dinner or at least breakfast with them. The get fully booked quickly so you should book the meal with your room. We loved the bath that the staff prepared for us! We will be back in our next Japan Trip!

위치가 기온 거리 및 기요미즈데라에서 가까운 편입니다. 숙소로부터 도보로도 교토 동부의 남쪽 및 북쪽 관광지에 접근하기 훌륭합니다. 직원분들은 매우 친절합니다. 또한 서비스의 측면에서 소소한 곳까지 많은 배려가 느껴졌습니다. 음식은 과거 미슐랭 가이드에 들었던 곳이니 만큼 코스나 맛에서 흠잡을 곳이 없습니다. 훌륭한 가이세키 대접을 받았다고 생각합니다.(다만, 이 곳에서 예약하는 경우 가이세키가 포함되지 않은 옵션이라 음식을 드시고 싶으신 경우, 추가 요금을 지불하셔야 합니다.) 가격이 낮은 편은 아닌데, 다만 어느 수준 이상의 료칸은 사실상 이 수준 정도의 가격을 받는다고 생각하셔야 할 것 같고, 제 개인적으로는 지불한 돈 이상의 가치가 있는 서비스 수준이라고 생각합니다. 공용 욕조는 각 방마다 시간을 예약해 두고 사용하며 쓰는 데 불편함은 없었습니다. 다만, 넓은 욕조나 온천욕을 바라시는 분들은 위치를 옮기시거나(예를 들어 구라마 온천, 아리마 온천 등으로) 가격대를 높이셔야 할 것 같습니다. 개인적으로는 처음 료칸을 이용해 보았는데, 휴식을 위한 숙박으로서 전혀 부족함이 없었고, 일본 료칸 문화를 정말 정석적이고도 훌륭한 수준으로 경험해 보았다고 생각합니다.

Nice Japanese style hotel. Great location. Can enjoy walking on the empty street around Kiyomizu-dera in the morning brisk.

nous somme restés une nuit pour essayer un ryokan, suivant les avis déposés nous avons opté pour cet établissement qui est très bien situé, en fait nous avons été déçus par le niveau des prestations délivrées, l'auberge aurait bien bien besoin d'un rafraîchissement, c'est vieux et on ne trouve pas du tout l'aspect cosy et luxueux décrit dans les avis déposés (?), nous avions une chambre immense mais dépourvue de toilettes et de douche, même pas un lavabo pour se laver les dents, il faut aller au bout du couloir...au prix de la nuit je trouve cela exagéré. alors bien sur il y a les bains privés, il y en a 2, il faut réserver un créneau d'une heure (arrivez tôt si vous voulez choisir), vous avez la possibilité de prendre un repas Japonnais, nous n'avons pas apprécié du tout les mets servis.

Overall an amazing stay at Motonago Rokyan. Impeccable services provided and very friendly staff. Made my stay an enjoyable and memorable. Ryokan at the Gion area which i consider a traditional location. Will go back again if I am in Kyoto. Only challenge is pulling luggage to the Ryokan on the narrow street.

If you want to experience a ryokan, this one is over priced, and don't do it more than one night, though the location is really great. Ikea futons are more comfortable. When you arrived tired from a long trip, finding a room where there is just a small low table in the room and nowhere to lay down comfortably, this is not exactly ideal. They eventually prepare the bed later in the evening. Room for baths is great, but probably not ideal when you go during the summer and it's already really hot outside. You are not necessarily seeking a room at over 100 degrees F / 37 degrees C. If you are sensitive to outside noise and light in order to sleep, this place is also bot for you as the walls are really thin, and windows are not covered letting light come in. Staff is kind, but probably as all ryokans, you need to follow specific rules. Again, fun for one night but that would be it.

Amazing service and beautiful traditional ryokan room. When we arrived, we received a quick tour of the hotel amenities (shared bath, bathrooms, and wash areas), and then went to our room (clean and comfortable), where we were served hot tea. The hot bath was the highlight of our trip - each guest can reserve 30 minutes in the hot bath room, which has showers, toiletries, and a medium sized wooden pool with hot water. So refreshing and relaxing to experience the day after we hiked Mount Fuji! Motonago is a bit of an older ryokan but the service was excellent and grounds were pristine. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for the traditional hotel experience while in Kyoto.
